Beautifully designed hotel. Very aesthetically pleasing and thought out. Nothing nearby to walk to so you’re kind of stuck there, unless you’re going to an event at the stadium. Parking is extra cost. The room was relatively small but had everything required. Our carpet was stained and found some dark hairs in the bathroom. Otherwise quiet comfortable stay in the room.

15min walk from Lyon Part Dieu. Due to construction works, walking and dragging luggage became challenging and not as direct. There was a huge Westfield Mall where you can shop and dine. 10min walk to car rental office. There was a pickup area for us to load up luggage to our rental car just beside the hotel. Check-in process was a bliss. Staff was friendly. Sanitisers were always available. Room was relatively much smaller than Paris hotel. Barely enough space for 2x large luggage. Nevertheless, room was clean and dust-free. Toilet had decent space. Recommended for as a stopover hotel. Probably a night stay.

It is close to the station and Carrefour, and the transportation and shopping are very convenient. There is a kitchen, and the kitchen utensils can be used by yourself. There is also a paid parking lot, but there are not many parking spaces, so you have to try your luck to see if there are vacancies.

I recently stayed at the Eklo Lyon hotel and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. I am 5ft3, 55 kgs and felt claustrophobic in that bathroom, you could hardly move around. Awful. We, as a family, are used to staying in basic hotels when we are only having a stop over during our journeys but this one was beyond basic. As said before tiny bathroom, the mattress on our bed was terrible (collapsing on one side). We booked a family room for the 4 of us and once all the beds were made we literally could not moved around the room, no space to sit or walk around. Dreadful. It was clean though so that is one thing. The parking was gated and you could walk in 15 mins to a McDonald's, the area felt safe enough. The staff was very pleasant but the evening staff could not speak English properly. Only one towel per person no hand towel or floor mat.

The hotel is a very good hotel and is a good hotel. The rooms are sparate in the 1970s, which is more glacial despite the heat in the ground. Traces of humidity at the ceiling just above the bed head. Let au matlas défoncé, certainly we feel well the resorts. The bathroom is very date with the washing spots, black traces on the walls left by a wall accessory (hair dry?) missing, mosquito shower joints, hair and hair in the washing and shower! ... And it was the same for my 4 colleagues who had also booked. To avoid absolutely. And it is a 3 stars!!! ???

Hotel Charlemagne is a great hotel. The location was in an esplanade district directly in the route of all public transport. We took a tram to the train station, and the bus to the tourist sites- direct route. There is plenty to eat in the area, with a mall about a 10 min walk. Across the street is a self service all included laundry, very helpful for long trips. Some restaurants in the area close outside the peak hours- mostly 3-6. The staff was very friendly and the bar tender made a great mojito.
