Waterfront Hotel

The hotel was perfectly located on the seafront...not surprising considering its name! The room was clean and comfortable. I was given a kind and efficient welcome. I'm not keen on sharing bathroom facilities but for the price they were adequate. The decor was a little tired, but the service more than made up for this. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful.

I have only given three stars for the location and views of the sea, the rest is downhill sadly. When I arrived to check in, two other couples were huddled in the doorway in the cold waiting to be let in. There was a note on the door to say, “ call this number to be let in “. Apparently, they had been waiting 25 minutes. So I went off and came back later, not a good start. Room was for two nights, shared bathroom. Problem was, no toilet paper, and cold shower in the morning. Breakfast was very average, so I paid to eat elsewhere the next morning ( even though included in the price ). Bed was not made second night, and no clean towels or extra water left. The hotel is in definite need of modernisation. Even though it is cheap for Deal, it needs to be cheaper I feel. Don’t include breakfast also, give people the choice, as lots of good breakfast venues in Deal. If you are ok with basic, no thrills this place is for you. But maybe bring your own loo rolls!

Stayed here for a few days on a visit to Deal and was very impressed. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the location - right by the pier on the seafront - could not have been better. It's in easy reach of the station and bus stops, with some nice pubs and restaurants nearby. Will definitely stay here when I'm next in the area.

Went for Sunday lunch, as always Wonderful, cooked well and hot. Eaten here plenty of times before, whatever you choose it is well presented, with fresh vegetables, lovely roasted potatoes and good gravy. You can also have a good glass of wine or a beer. Will be back.

Terrible experience. Avoid this place at all cost you f you don't want to ruine your holiday. The worse 3 Stars hotel ever. Miserable conditions, booked double room, given Room 17. Be aware about this place. This was our terrible experience period 2 August to 10 August 2024.

I have visited The Waterfront on 5 other occasions and loved it thought it was a little Gem. This place has been taken over and the pervious owner has run it into the ground. When arriving the place looked very shabby . The place is very dated and in need of decoration. The curtains were rotten. The toilet bowl was dirty I even went out to by some bleach to clean it and the toilet didn't work on a couple of occasions and had to fill up the cistern. Also when sitting outside a passer by said this used to be such a lovely looking hotel, look at it know. The carpets were dirty and the bed was so uncomfortable. They hairdryer didnt work properly, I hope the new owner reads this and does something to improve The Waterfront as I won't be visiting again unless this does. I must say though that the food was excellent and all Catering staff were lovely think their just trying to do there best with what they have. Not worth the money
