Flamingo Inn Beachfront

Checked into the hotel expecting a great week. The pictures and the description of the hotel was fantastic. That expectation ended when we actually walked into the room. The room was small and filthy. There was unknown substances on the walls, table and bottom of the commode. I called the front desk immediately to get my money back and to find a cleaner hotel. The front desk told me the manager would call me. When he did call, he immediately accused us of dirtying the room and having dogs in the room when they were not a pet friendly hotel. I directed him to his web page that clearly states they are pet friendly and it would be impossible for us to dirty the room that much in the short period of time we were there. He refused to refund our money. I immediately called *********** since i had gone through them to book the room. They were absolutely worthless offering no help whatsoever. My advice to anyone wanting to visit Daytona Beach. Stay away from this hotel. It will ruin your vacation. They promise a lot and deliver nothing. Parking is minimal. Pool is not heated, despite the fact they state it is. Your view is not of the ocean but of the roof of the building next door.

In the write up of what it did have (pool, directly on the beach) it did not mention there was NO elevator (3 stories) and NO ice machine. Front desk was not manned most of the time. You had to call a number posted on the door. I can say rooms were clean. Bathroom has been updated except for the tub. Has to be original. Ick
