Silver Lake Bed and Breakfast

Loved the ambience.. :) The inn is located a little bit off the interstate but I was so glad I made the choice to stay overnight at this B&B versus chain lodging. The surrounding area is beautiful rural Virginia. Through one of the many windows in the room I saw two horse and buggies go down nearby road early in the morning. I learned there is a large Mennonite community in the area. Rooms are large, and extremely clean. Great blend of rustic & contemporary. The innkeepers are hospitable yet give you amble privacy. Bed was comfy, and with the tv on I probably would not have been able to hear the downstairs guests. :) Breakfast was delicious and hearty.

What a little gem tucked out in the country outside of Harrisonburg, VA! It is such a beautiful rural setting that we sat out on the porch for long periods of time just enjoying the view and "feel" of being somewhere so peaceful. Yet, we were minutes from good resturants in downtown Harrisonburg. We stayed in the room on the ground floor, which had a comfortable king bed and a large really nice shower. The place has two living room areas guests can hang out in addition to the wrap-around porch. The pleasant dining area has lots of windows and a long wooden table. The breakfast was delicious - gourmet-style - served by our very personable host, a former WV college football player. We would heartily recommend a stay here if you are a fan of GREAT B&B's!

We've stayed at this beautifully restored historic family residence three times, and we always look forward to being with Ben and Hannah. We enjoy the upscale rustic quality of the rooms, and the common areas have ample seating for unwinding after a day of adventure or travel. The original log walls coupled with the modern touches and gorgeous en suite bathrooms make for a relaxing and enjoyable setting. Although only a few miles from I-81, the farm is in a rural setting, but the distance to a host of restaurants of different cuisines is short, only 10-15 minutes away. The full breakfast is delicious and enough to have you ready to hit the trail or take to the road for the day. We highly recommend Silver Lake Bed and Breakfast.

My wife and I stayed two nights at Silver Lake Bed and Breakfast in March while taking a long weekend getaway. This BNB is incredibly beautiful and made more so by the history behind it. Our hosts, Ben and Hannah, were welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The house itself is stunning. We stayed in the Silk Room and were so impressed by the way the owners have blended the very old with modern day. Comfortable, quiet, and with all the modern conveniences while maintaining its original beauty. Breakfast each morning was served in the family style dining room. More than ample servings, delicious and made with fresh ingredients grown locally. We enjoyed meeting people from other places and hearing about their travels and experiences. Definitely a must stay if you will be in the area. This BNB is close to shopping, restaurants, and the Bluestone Vineyard. The grapes for Bluestone's Moscato are grown on the BNB's farmland. We plan to return for another stay. This BNB is a GEM!

We stayed recently for 2 nights dipping our toe back into the B&B pool after 2 years of just airbnbs. Hannah and Ben were warm and welcoming hosts and have a beautifully restored farm house in a really peaceful setting. We spent some time in Harrisonburg, Washington and Jefferson National Forest and hope to return some day.
