Grand Belish Hotel

Stayed during the 1st week of the 2 week October half term we have here in the UK. We were upgraded unexpectedly and really appreciated it. Our room was on the 5th floor. The hotel itself is beautiful, staff very friendly, helpful and genuine. I can not complain at all about the hotel as I said beautiful and lovely staff and the food was typical AI spread. The only negatives for us were that during the day the hotel was like a ghost town, no guests really at all. The slides at the pool while we were there were open 11am-12pm and again at 3pm (not sure how long for). We only stayed in the hotel complex on arrival day and departure day but this was our observation on those days. Come dinner time was a whole different story! Coach loads arrived every evening just before dinner and would wait outside the restaurant for it to open and flood it so it was very difficult to get a table as we were part of a party of 9. Luckily as we were a larger party with children the staff allowed us to sit up in the A la carte restaurant which was very kind of them but looked no different to the main restaurant. We didn't see anything going on in the day (of the 2 half days we spent there) entertainment wise, we assume as it was coming to the end of their season. The hotel is quite far from the centre so we had to get taxis everywhere as it wasn't in walking distance and there were no buses near by and the taxis were not punctual. The area the hotel is more residential than equipped for tourists so bare this in mind if you're looking to venture out of the hotel. We went on 2 day trips and had to get a taxi to another hotel for pick up and a taxi to the destination of the other trip as this hotel doesn't seem to be a hotel excursions will pick up from. All in all despite the location being 'off the beaten track' we really did like this hotel and I imagine that during the height of the season it has a livelier atmosphere and more activities going on.

Our first experience with this hotel was calling ahead after a long flight delay and asking if we could have some food boxes up from dinner, since we hadn’t eaten all day. They said sure. We arrived and not only did they say that was not something they could do, but we said we were thirsty and they said there was water in the room. There wasn’t water in the room, so we had to go back downstairs to get some. The food here isn’t good at all. I can’t think of a meal I had here that I enjoy. And in the main dining area, there are many cats wandering around begging for food. Also, there really wasn’t any air conditioning, so it was an extremely hot room to eat in after the sun had been coming in through the windows all day. I also wish that the breakfast buffet opened earlier than 7:00. When you have to leave early for a tour, it doesn’t give you much time. Now for some positives. The room was comfortable. The pool was really nice. There is a small market a quick walk from the hotel where you can pick up things you might need for the beach. The pool was really nice. The best part of the hotel though, was the beach out back. Plenty of room to lay out on the sand, or walk along the board walk. Or even take a nice walk out on the dock. I’d say the beach and location of this hotel are what make it stand out from others in the area.

SO nice we had to go twice!!! Got back on 15th of May and we had the best time ever so we've booked to go back in October! The staff are 10/10, helpful, kind, and always involved us in any activity that was going on. The hotel exceeded expectations as we was looking at reviews before we was going and didn't expect much as the pictures are all old etc but it was very modern, clean and we had a lovely sea view! There were plenty of daily activities and entertainment on at night to keep you busy. You walk 30 seconds out of the hotel and you are at the beach, it is well kept and very clean with staff cleaning it every night. The pool is lovely and clean too, very cold but very refreshing when the sun is beaming. Can't wait to go back!!!!
