Ikos Dassia

Ok so this is a truly excellent resort. If you’ve read some of the poor reviews whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion in our experience it feels like nit-picking in the extreme. The hotel is spacious, extremely well managed, spotlessly clean and frankly stunning. The hotel is split across two main buildings with the suites dotted in between. The grounds are beautifully maintained. There are two large well designed pools (popular with families) plus two pools exclusively for adults and a pool reserved for deluxe guests. I think there’s at least 8 restaurants from traditional Greek, Corfuan, Mediterranean, Asian, French and Italian and a Grill. All worth a visit. You can use the invite email to get ahead and book the first three dinner reservations and then once you have your room number use their app to book further into your stay. Keep on top of this as in the busy periods the popular restaurants do get booked up. They have a concierge WhatsApp service to help you with that plus anything else on your mind. This service was well managed and very responsive. The service across the hotel was great. Couldn’t fault it at all. From the lobby to the restaurants to the beach every single member of staff was there for you clearly wanting you to be happy and looked after. Special mention to Vanessa at the Grill and the wonderful Melahrini at Ouzo (who made us fell so wonderfully welcome). All in all we feel Ikos really does have it sorted.

We had an amazing experience at Ikos Dassia. Specifically the service from Sito was amazing. He made sure we had everything we needed with a smile. He made our stay at Ikos Dassia truly special.

We wanted to extend our particular thanks as we had a wonderful stay. Caterina- cleaned our room and so kind to our children Christiania- cleaned our room and so kind to our children Marieta - great at the pool serving drinks Eduardo - so so so kind and lovely. Went above and beyond! Helped us with buggy rides too Aris - so great and patient with our very large party at al fresco Chris - the grill. Super efficient and perceptive Theodore - def spelt his name wrong! So brilliant with my children at the buffet

We spent a week at Dassia and to be honest had been soo excited. Arrival was a lovely experience - champagne by outside while the hotel was explained to us. Luckily we had been on the Facebook group so knew before hand how things worked - if we had not done this we would have been lost. Room…..hugely disappointed….tiny bathroom and I mean tiny! Not what I was expecting for the price…..we did get upgraded to a sea view which was amazing but room was an issue ( however good storage). Room was clean and mini bar contained all things requested prior to arrival. Nice touch with crisps… Tiny cups for tea which is always an issue and we ended up buying a mug at the souvenir shop across the road. Everything was replaced daily and if you had any requests I have to admit the WhatsApp concierge is great (however does not start till 9am and finished 9pm everyday if not deluxe) Adult pool was amazing and always beds free…Fotini who served here was amazing and made our stay to be honest..loved the mocktails that were delivered everyday. (Maybe Look at vegetarian options of the food items taken round as there weren’t any) Wine tasting with Maria was amazing and really taught me some things when looking for wine. Restaurant wise….really mixed bag. 1) buffet breakfast great….really good vegetarian options - grill was slightly quieter but not as big selection 2) Anaya - lovely atmosphere but food lacked flavour 3) Fresco - amazing pizza at lunch but horrendous evening meal - no taste and restaurant lacked atmosphere 4) Enoteca - AMAZING- food delicious (did two nights) and staff awesome- favourite food of the stay and could live off the fries and sundae. 5) Dinner by the beach…..lovely atmosphere but food disappointing for vegetarians - got a little bored of Beyond burger meat…. 6) The Grill….well amazing first night - complete disaster second - advice to staff - don’t lie and George as manager take responsibility and not blame others…such a shame as first meal was lovely….apparently “hairy salt” is a thing!! Went on the sunset cruise and this was a lovely hour or so….got some great views of the island. Gyms were disappointing- tiny and not what expected…need to update the equipment. Soa - treatments good but pool freezing and no jacuzzi (very odd for a spa) Cocktails at all bars were delicious- can tell the alcohol is branded. As for the 300 wines….good luck finding a list of them!! To be fair everything we drank was lovely but not ‘high’ quality - not sure about the IKos list…..tried to go off this to be honest….Maria was amazing at recommending and also did a private wine tasting the night after the group one.. Overall a lovely break but just a few things that stopped it short from being truly five star 1) no coasters or note pads in room (may seem strange to say but annoying) 2) bathroom unacceptable 3) didn’t do delux and glad we didn’t - not really sure for adults only what the advantage is However the staff (apart from the lying in the gri

We just spent a week at Ikos Dassia, having specifically chosen it for the advertised a la carte dining experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Here’s our honest and balanced review. The Good: • Most of the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. • The adult pool area is well designed – comfy sunbeds, plenty of space, and a relaxing atmosphere. The OK: • The room offers ample storage space. • The minibar is restocked daily with a good selection. • The coffee machine is a nice touch, though only two pods are provided. • Breakfast offers a choice of locations, but like most buffets, food is lukewarm unless you order made-to-order eggs or omelettes. • Lunch quality varies greatly depending on the restaurant and dish – we had both great and very average meals. The Bad: • Dinner was the biggest disappointment. While starters and desserts were generally good, out of seven restaurants visited, only one main course was memorable for the right reasons. • Checkout left a sour final impression. We asked to speak with a manager to give feedback (with no intention of asking for a discount) but were met with a token apology and no real discussion, just a quick handover of our €5000 bill. • Vera, our customer service rep, did check in with us daily after we complained about one meal, which was appreciated – but ultimately nothing changed, and no effort was made to elevate our experience. Summary: If you value high-quality a la carte dining, this is not the place. We’ve stayed at many resorts that excel in this area, and Ikos Dassia fell well short of that standard. Other guests we spoke with felt similarly. On our last night, we received an email encouraging us to rate the hotel highly, but in good faith, we simply can’t.
