What a fantastic hotel. This was a last minute budget holiday me and a friend had booked for a few days of sunshine. We originally booked 3 nights and enjoyed the hospitality so much we extended our stay an extra 4 nights. The staff make this place! From Christina at the reception, to Valentino at the bar, Yannis at breakfast, Nikos at the snack bar and of course Vangeli the owner. Every single one of them and the rest of the staff made sure our stay was memorable. The room was basic but for the price we paid you can't expect much more. It was clean and comfortable. Fresh towels everyday and the cleaners even folded our pyjamas. They also provide shower gel and shampoo. Food was good for a 2* with plenty of options and there was always something to eat. The BBQ nights were the best quality, we never went hungry. There are also plenty of amenities extremely close to the hotel with Danny's supermarket opposite and La Casa a lovely restaurant a 1/2min walk away. Drinks were great, the all inclusive included cocktails, beer, wine, spirits and mixers and occasionally a round of shots was brought round the bar on an evening by Vangeli. There was also entertainment on alternate nights with live bands and Greek dancing which were fantastic and got everyone on the dance floor! The only downfall was the smell of sewage but this wasn't only at Amalia, we had to move to another hotel for one night when we extended our stay as Amalia had no availability and the alterative hotel also had a similar problem (but worse). Its especially bad next to the pool area but I think drainage may be a regular problem on the greek islands. Thank you so much for making our stay excellent.

Thank you for the most magical experience in Corfu!! My sister and I had a blast, all the staff were friendly, helpful and they work very hard to keep the hotel running. The quality of the food was excellent and there was a lovely atmosphere around the pool. Would recommend!

Amazing hotel . Run by a lovely man and his team. Couldn’t fault anything. Massive shout out to Valentino in the bar. The owner is hilarious. They all make you feel so welcome. Very clean. Food was lovely . Not a massive choice, but we never went hungry and we were there 10 days all inclusive. Not a 5 star but you don’t pay for a 5star. Would definitely return.

I feel the need to leave this review as this hotel is not as advertised. The hotel has definitely seen better days. You realise this when you get dropped off outside the front of the hotel. Reception staff are good. Be aware there are no lifts . as someone else said you get a feel for the place when you walk along the gloomy corridors to your room. Rooms are dated bed was hard only one pillow each. 1 small wardrobe for our clothes not enough hangers . Tiny corner shower don’t drop your soap. Balcony overlooking old buildings ect. Food. Not enough choice. Warm not hot . had rabbit on the menu one night. Pool has a scummy tide mark.if the wasps and big ants don’t get you the mosquitoes definitely will I and many others were bit so many times. Then there’s the famous regular waft of sewage and people were gagging . It was so bad at times. Drinks . Sorry but these were absolute joke . Beer ok. Wines pretty much undrinkable. Only 4 spirits brandy vodka white rum and gin . All tasted nothing like the real thing. Coke sickly sweet and flat people were going to the shop over the road and buying their own drinks and coke. I just don’t get all the 5 star reviews. I feel like people deserve to have the information necessary to make an informed decision on their holiday.

Like many other guests we spoke to, we chose Amelia Hotel based on the many glowing 5 star Tripadvisor reviews but were all very disappointed with our choice. The reality is very different from those reviews and I find it hard to understand why they are so misleading. Let me redress that so hopefully future guests can make a better choice that doesn’t ruin their holiday. Our first impression was a sign of things to come. Near the entrance to the hotel a rusty old BBQ, caked in burnt fat that looks like it has never been cleaned, greets guests. It was also in the view from our room. We presumed it was dumped awaiting refuse collection but it was actually still in use for our meals! Reception staff, especially Kristina, were very helpful and patient. They had to cope with guest complaints including one I overheard who was complaining that her room was ‘like a prison cell’. The room was very cramped, as we expected, but the beds were comfortable enough and the aircon very good and quiet. The TV hung at an angle with trailing leads and the whole room was poorly decorated and badly fitted out making it overall rather depressing. The rooms were cleaned every day, though that didn’t stand up to close scrutiny. Food wasn’t bad, many people were complaining but we did find some very nice local dishes that were like home cooking. It’s a shame that the included red and white wines were almost undrinkable. The pride and joy of the hotel was supposed to be the large pool and bar area which looked great from a balcony on the main building – but if anything, this was the worst part. The pool had a grubby tide mark, like in a bath that needs cleaning. The sunbed mattresses were disgusting, every one was heavily soiled, so bad that we chose not to use them, even with a towel on top. A sewage smell wafted across from one corner. The bar served low quality all-inclusive drinks, weak tasteless beer and cocktails that tasted nothing like they should. We like a bit of background music and in most holiday hotels it adds to the holiday ‘vibe’ around the pool. Here, blasted out of tinny speakers it was too loud for many people to hear themselves speak, but we do accept that it doesn’t bother everyone. We especially liked Zisis who battled on gamely behind the bar. So we chose to go out most days rather than spend any time in the pool area. The nearest usable beach is Dassia and it’s a good twenty minute walk, past the massive 5 star Ikios Hotel to the stretch in front of Dassia Beach Hotel where sunbeds are a reasonable price and it has a really nice bar, with decent drinks and snacks, overlooking the beach. We wished we had booked there instead! We had the impression from the reviews that The Amalia is a family run hotel, which isn’t true. The manager is an odd character who often walks around with his shirt off showing his hairy chest and whose idea of fun is to throw paper napkins over guests dancing in the bar area. Not just a few napkins, but possibly hu

Good location being only 15km from the airport. The hotel is on a busy road although there is very little traffic noise unless you sit right at the very front of the hotel. The pool is excellent, lovely warm water and you can guarantee a sunbed. The poolside bar serves drinks all day, bit of a limited choice and the beer was a cheaper brand but ok. The rooms are small and basic but perfectly comfortable, you have a TV and fridge. Decent, if small, bathroom with a good shower. Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels. As for food there is a BBQ at least twice a week. Plenty of choice. I honestly thought the food was very good, I was never disappointed. Staff were very friendly, the lady that runs the bar has three little cats that roam the bar and pool. Such sweet little things that like to jump on your lap and go to sleep. Overall, a good stay.

I appreciate it’s ‘budget’ but standard was poor Whole hotel very dated and tatty even the corridors to rooms gave us a clue of what was to come Food was never hot and that combined with the almost constant smell of sewerage meant you never wanted to eat much and outside of restaurant was on the side of busy main road although the snack bar was good The photos advertising this hotel were very misleading as they are not representative of what it’s like Pool lounger cushions not comfortable and dirty as was the pool which could have done with a good clean

I’m sorry to say that this hotel looks nothing like the pictures make it out to look. Very disappointed. Wanted a relaxing holiday by the pool but didn’t stay there once, everything grubby and scruffy . Food not very good. We have moved to Corfu town for our last three nights just to get out . Also nothing to do round there, there is a really nice restaurant right across the road where we ate every night as the food was great. called La Casa. It was our saving grace . Don’t like to leave poor reviews but it’s really spoilt our holiday it was like prison cell block H .

I returned home on Thursday evening following a short holiday with my daughter! Due to having limited mobility I requested a ground floor room, and this was granted - with the bonus of a pool view. We even had our own sun beds and table/chairs! Absolutely perfect! 🩵 The rooms themselves are quite small but have everything needed for a holiday, with a decent bathroom! All very clean & sanitary! Beds are comfortable too. Due to being a small hotel the AI selection isn’t as great as elsewhere but we always found food to suit us! We chose to eat out on occasion too! The pool/snack bar is excellent! Definitely recommended!😀 All-inclusive drinks and cocktails are great too! There was never an issue getting sun beds, such a relief! 💕 The pool is very deep so be aware if you can’t swim. All the staff are so friendly, and helpful! The hotel receptionist organised our trip to Paxos/Anti-Paxos and we got picked up/dropped off at the hotel - perfect and well worth doing! 🌊🚢 I have to mention the hotel resident kittens, all 4 are adorable and touched our hearts! Leaving them was tough! All in all I’d recommend this hotel, it’s 3* and perfect, if you expect more you may be disappointed but we loved it! Thank you!
