Truly a colonial heritage hotel. Lots of work has been done to upgrade the hotel. Rooms were comfortable with a live fireplace set up by staff early evening. At night there were electric heaters. Restaurants had excellent colonial cuisine. The view from the Observation Point is just behind the hotel. The famous Mall, Glenary's patisserie and restaurant, Keventer's, Planter's is just a minute's walk away. You will have to drive up from Siliguri/Bagdogra airport/NJP train station.

I have stayed in Windamere with family and friends several times. I simply love Windamere. The old charm of tradition and the warm and efficient staff ***** with the location, the beautiful view and the comfort makes me choose Windamere when I go to Darjeeling. Mr.Amit and Mr.Harish have always looked after us with impeccable hospitality. Mr.Harish is always very kind and takes care of all with a smile. A colonial heritage property which transports you back in time. The property has charming lawns and a sundeck which provides an outstanding view of the Himalayan ranges and Mt Khanchenjunga. The location of hotel is excellent it practically overlooks the Mall Road. A special thanks to Mr Amit the manager of the property

I booked this property for my honeymoon and it was a great decision the hotel has a colonial feel and a peaceful aura there are two restaurants in the hotel but one must enjoy the candle light dinner it’s a must the staffs are very kind and helpful they will fulfill all your requirements. The spa is also very good.The food is delicious and the continental cuisine is the main show stopper. There are a lot of gardens in the property so you can enjoy the nature as well,I would like to come here again in the future as there is no hotel in Darjeeling like this. Kudos to the whole windamere team. Thank you see you soon.

The Windamere is nothing short of a romantic fairy tale, which transports you into a bygone era. Classic, charming and elegant is how I’d describe it Don’t expect proficiency in timings, room Service etc. Come to the Windamere if you want a Darjeeling style relaxed and luxurious getaway. Yes it is a bit expensive but you’re paying for more than just a room - you’re paying for history. If not staying there, definitely visit for a meal or even afternoon tea on the lawn and if it’s cold, in the music room, where they will light a fire for you. There’s a beautiful garden which i love for yoga and meditation. Each guest room in the heritage wing is named after one of the royals who stayed there and is unique in its own way. Go up to the terrace and look through the telescope for a stunning view. The other side overlooks the mall/chowk. We met Amit who was so warm and hospitable and gave us a lot of insights to the property and its heritage. The dining room is quaint - you would definitely want to have a sit down meal here too.

It was a grand experience for us. We will cherish the colonial experience for a lifetime.. wish to visit soon again. The rooms were beautiful and traditional. The furniture took us back in time. The bathroom was luxurious. The cafe and it's food was awesome.

Beauty call Windamere Hotel old charming and carried thousand of stories on it. Best professional on Service with full of Beautiful staff who had make us fell really Home away from Home. Old traditional English Cuisine with touched of Local as well Indian taste of Food on the one roofs make us feel like luxury as well Two Bar on Hotel make us double options for luxury as well open deck. Waiting staff , House keeping staff and Office staff are very friendly

It’s the best place ever, with the best staff, amazing food and in the lap of the Himalayas. This can’t get better than this. Excellent place and excellent people. It’s the people that make the place beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. May God Bless you all.
