Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa Darjeeling

Best place to unwind and relax within the space of phenomenal ambiance. The entire stay and experience was exceptional . The open spaces , and the layout of the property is wow as it just provides comfort beyond measure. Highlights: high tea | the flutist | the blessings and chanting of the monks | the restaurants | bar | music | the mini library | the tea tasting | tour of the tea factory ( all easily accessible and so well paced). The comforts and luxuries of the room especially with the balcony is premium. I had a recovering knee injury - the service was so excellent the team ensure a vehicle was a available for me go the restaurant ( another building on the same property) , and return to the main building as such. This value-added service is certainly being diligent and attentive to guests' needs - going the extra mile. The gifts and token of appreciation is invaluable- thank you so much. The entire team we, (group of 4 adults), interacted with were all just fantastic. Specific and special mentions must go to : Reception and Check-in: DAKSHA, GESHIKA, REEMA . Restaurant: ABIJIT, RISHI, SUVEENA, KUMAR, MEGHNA. Arrival coordinator: WANG. Housekeeping: DIPA. They are certainly true ambassadors to the TAJ brand. Highly recommended.

Unskilled people hv been given a big responsibility. PATHETIC FOOD AT THE BUFFET BREAKFAST & BUFFET DINNER .. THE SPREAD WAS HAVING 1 CHICKEN 1 MUTTON 1 FISH IN MAIN COURSE .. IT SEEMED ULL WERE SERVING LANGAR KA KHANA .. PEOPLE DONT GET FOOD AND ULL R DOING A FAVOUR BY SERVING FOOD ... YOU DONT HV ANY NOODLES EXCEPT 1 TYPE . THE MANAGER RISHI & THE CHEF WERE COURTEOUS ENOUGH TO GIVE US ANY OTHER FOOD BUT THE FOOD WAS PATHETICALLY PREPARED ... WE WERE 10 PEOPLE IN TOTAL WITH 3 CHILDREN ... THEY TRIED PIZZA & PASTA, WHICH WAS ALSO pathetic . Last month we were in taj city centre , from a to zee everything was fantastic. Prior to that we went to TAJ CITADE GOA ... EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING ... HERE TO OUR SURPRISE THE LOCATION & ROOM WAS AMAZING ... BUT FOOD WAS HORRIBLE .. NEXT ISSUE ... THE HOTEL DOESNT HAVE SAUNA & JACUZZI ? THE WORST PART IS STEAM IS NOT LOCATED BESIDE THE SWIMMING POOL ? NOR GYM ? SO I HAD TO GO WET TO THE STEAM ROOM IN THE COLD WEATHER ... IT WAS OVERALL THE WORST EXPERIENCE ... U R CHARGING 27000 PER ROOM I BOOKED 4 ROOMS SO I PAID THREE LAKHS TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND APPROX OF INR.... IT WAS TOTALLY A DISASTER ... THE GIRL REEMA SITTING IN RECEPTION FOR CHECK IN ... WAS SO JUNIOR THAT SHE TOOK 1.5 HOURS TO ALLOT US ROOMS ... WE ARRIVED AT HOTEL AT 4:45 PM APPROX ... SHE IS A SWEET GIRL BUT COMPLETELY UNSKILLED... I MADE THE BOOKINGS 1MONTH BACK AND ALSO CONFIRMED A DAY PRIOR TO ARRIVING THE FOLLOWING : ALL THE 4 ROOMS TO BE TOGETHER AND MY MOM A SENIOR CITIZEN WITH AN AGE OF 73 YEARS ARE TRAVELLING SO THE ROOMS TO BE CLOSER TO ELEVATOR ... BUT TO OUR SURPRISE NOTHING WAS ARRANGED INFACT SHE GAVE US ROOMS IN 4 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS ... ROOM NUMBERS WERE 510 ,504 ,616,608 !! IMAGINE HOW FRUSTRATING IT IS ... WHATS THE USE OF INFORMING IN PRIOR IF U DONT FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS... I AM an ITC HOTEL MEMBER TOO AND THEY ALWAYS KEEP THESE IN MIND ... last visit to city centre taj was also taken care but here nothing done .. her senior Lokesh knew only one word to all complaints - " Sorry " but was it useful ....NO ... I COMPLAINWD ABOUT THE RAIN SHOWER HAVING NO PRESSURE ... HE SAID IT WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BUT NOTHING ... NO ONE EVEN CHECKED THE SHOWER , HOW DO I KNOW THIS ? I tilted the shower and went ... when I came back the shower was still tilted , so that proved nothing was taken care of... it's a completely pathetic hotel ... your unskilled people and food has left a remarkable memory .. which should last for a very long time .. Lastly coming to invoice ... long story again... so let's leave it. ... that was also not taken care of nor was the print out of invoice provided... reema refused and said it will be emailed... which I have not yet received... I don't know what to do with this...( pls don't think the story ends here) lot more complaints ... if u r free then pls feel free to call me ... It was taj ka experiences because of which we planned to visit kurseong ..

This is a quaint hotel in Kurseong about 90 mins from Darjeeling and one hour drive from the Bagdogra airport. The Service was very slow. Breakfast was disappointing - the omelettes were inedible. The Breakfast spread was also inadequate. On the other hand rooms are very nice and extremely comfortable.

Lovely place , beautiful climate , very good restaurant. Food was very good quality. All the dishes prepared very very tasty .serving staff was very humble and kind. Overall I got all the seasons to see over there and it was like really amazing time which I have spent with my family.

A little disappointed. Had been hearing a lot about this property and was wanting to come here for a long time. But didn’t find it worth all the hype and seems extremely over priced. I was in the valley view room and there was hardly any scenic beauty.

There is something for everybody here .. loved the villa , loved the daily events , high tea , the amazing band singing every evening , the chanting , the food and of course the taj hospitality at its best. They had many activities to keep u busy throughout the day
