The hotel itself is perfect for families and couples. It’s a safe place to stay and feel comfortable. The staff are great including the cleaners. Nothing is too much effort and everyone is so easy going. We felt very comfortable and happy being there. Food was great the whole time, although they could have more variety of snacks such as wraps or pizzas and chips. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. The location was great with local supermarkets and town close by. We walked to shops and enjoyed the harbour. You will not be disappointed with this choice of hotel.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a week really enjoyed ourselves , so lucky requested a quiet room and was put on the side of the hotel across the road which was so quiet and own pool . Only complaint would be the food which could have some improvements. Enjoyed the beach which was 10 minute walk away and went on trip to Chania old town, 5 hour boat trip and trip to Elafonisi beach which would all recommend

Overall nice stay for us, a couple with 3 year old. Hotel Nice hotel, food was good (well seasoned) we particularly enjoyed the Chinese and Mexican themed dinners. Family room could do with some updating, cleaners came daily to replace towels and clean We did not come for the entertainment so can’t rate it, small playground and events to keep kids occupied as well as clean pools. Area Lovely local beaches, 15 min walk away. We hired a buggy for 15 euros a day for 2 days by CRETAN RIDE rentals by the beach (Kato Daratso) Local bus 21 takes you beaches and old Chania town with plenty of shops and great marina. We took a 1 hour boat ride with Stella tours, all female crew which was great only 15 euros each. Cab to town is 15 euros if too hot for local bus which you can pay on board for 2 euros per adult. We enjoyed our stay as a family from UK visiting Crete for the first time.

First of all we didn't had a great start to this holiday, we got a room (137) allocated directly by the main activity pool and it was loud! However I spoke to the manager Stavros and asked for the music to be turned down slightly and it was fine. He was very helpful and also offered to move us, which we denied in the end as was solved with the choice of music and loudness. Once we settled, it was fine. The staff were really friendly and helpful altogether. Loved the animation team. Batu, Nael, Maria and Ines especially were fabulous and we enjoyed their company . The hotel is well kept in every aspect. Beautiful gardens and layout. Food was nice and we only struggled a couple of times, but found always something to eat, Snack bar was great alternative and the gyros was delicious. There were a lot of nationalities and English probably were the minority. From Swedish, Polish, Finnish and German, which was dominant. Please note no kettle in room but you can ask reception for one. One thing I particularly likes was there was no wrist bands, thought it was genius and more hotels should adapt as complete waste of plastic when the resort is all inclusive. Our air con wasn't very good either, sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. Overall we enjoyed our stay but we missed the beach. Crete was fine but we enjoy Rhodes a lot more. I think this hotel is more for families as for couples, but remember it is what you make out of it.

Every summer, we pack our bags in search of the perfect vacation spot — and this year, Crete was our lucky destination. Let me tell you: the island is stunning, but what truly made our stay unforgettable was Althea Village! From the very first smile at the reception desk, we knew we had struck gold. The staff were kind, helpful, and genuinely happy to see us (not just pretending, we promise!). The hotel itself is more like a charming little village than a typical resort — picture tasteful buildings surrounded by lush, blooming gardens that seem straight out of a Mediterranean fairytale. Clean? ✔️ Modern? ✔️ Peaceful and picturesque? Double ✔️ There are three swimming pools, and guess what — no early-morning sunbed-hunting marathons! You could actually show up at a reasonable hour and still find a spot. At one of the pools, daytime and evening entertainment kept the fun going strong — water games, darts, table tennis, pétanque (fancy word for boules 😉), mini disco, karaoke, Just Dance nights, bingo... you name it! The entertainment crew — a vibrant team of four young souls — were full of energy and good vibes. Special shout out to the two Polish animators (represent! 🇵🇱) who brought a little piece of home into our Greek adventure. Now, let’s talk food — because yes, we definitely need to. The restaurant was a daily highlight. Every meal was beautifully presented and tasted like a celebration. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Chef’s kiss. Between meals, the snack bar had us covered. The only downside? Our clothes felt a little tighter by the end of the trip. Totally worth it. Though the hotel isn’t directly on the beach, that’s actually a plus in our book. Located near the main road and bus stops, it’s easy to explore nearby towns — and it gives you a good excuse to walk off a few of those delicious calories. Our room was spacious, spotless, and came with a private little balcony, embraced by flowers and trees. Each day we were serenaded by the island's tiny rockstars — the cicadas. Loud, yes. Annoying? Not at all. Their rhythmic song was strangely soothing — like nature’s own white noise machine. We’re still traveling with our kids, so we always consider their opinions too. Verdict? They loved it and are already lobbying to come back next year. Honestly, so are we. To the wonderful staff at Althea Village — we wish you endless smiles and the same joy in your work that you so clearly share with your guests. You’re doing an amazing job. Please don’t change a thing 💙 With heartfelt gratitude, Your very happy (and slightly sunburnt) guests 😄 A.D.L.I.

I spent a week here with my son in July 2025. There are a lot of good things to be said about the hotel. The number one is the hotel staff. They are friendly and helpful at all times. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, though the noise level depends on where in the resort you are located. We were right by the main pool and the animation and it did get a little loud at night. The food is very good, a good choice for every meal and there is always enough. The same goes for the selection of drinks and snacks throughout the day. There is enough room by the pool and it never gets overcrowded even in the high season. There are, however, also a few small issues. The beach is a bit of a hike, especially annoying when it is hot and you have small children. The pool hours are a bit ridiculous: they only open at 10.00 and by 6.00 everyone has to be out. No leisurely adult swims in the evening or early morning. The wifi is problematic; at various times during the day it kept disconnecting and was unusable even for simple things like messaging. These are for most people minor issues and I have to say that all in all we had a great time there.

Great to have the choice of 3 pools one busy with music and entertainment, one larger with 3 Bali beds and a lovely quiet pool. Food was pretty good although a fair amount of main courses were not hot enough. The desserts were excellent and the drinks choices very good. I had emailed the hotel as it was a special occasion but unfortunately were allocated a small, pretty basic room with small balcony. It did have a king size bed and adequate walk in shower but there were more modern rooms in the newer block across the road. It seems that these newer rooms are allocated to Scandinavian customers or those with 2 children. We had fantastic weather and made the most of the 3 beaches that were 15 minutes walk away. Chania was 20 mins by bus and is a beautiful place to visit.
