From the reception door the service was pathetic. Had a delayed flight which made us arrive at the hotel after 1am.....The security guard was sleeping together with the lady at reception.....The lady at reception had a stinking attitude and gave us a room which was smelly and had a leak in the bathroom. We had to ask for a change and the next one had 1 bed yet i specifically asked for 2 single beds.....We then later settled for another room but the experience was horrible. If possible please rremove that hotel from your list of possible hotels to stay in that area.

it very good service . It is very precaution maintain in rainbow hotel in dar es salaam. in hotel sanitizer available room, reception counter, distance maintenance mark in lift in hotel area. I am stay in hotel 24th Sept 2020. i stay in hotel very well. enjoy good service staff is good. cleaning maintain at each room.

Best of hotels for a small budget for a few days stay in Central Dar. The breakfast is ok though gets boring if you are staying for a longer period. The staff are very helpful. Besides it's close proximity to the Zanzibar ferry terminal (very convenient!), I would recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a affordable hotel and who also enjoy being in the city center.

Rainbow Hotel Set In the busy hustle and bustle of Dar Es Salaam the Rainbow Hotel opens it welcoming arms. Reception was quiet when I arrived at 4.30am and was greeted with a hassle free check in and went straight to my waiting bed. The morning breakfast was served on the first floor Resturant. A choice of hot and cold food was on display with juices tea and coffee. My room on the 7th floor was clean, aircon and a big ceiling fan. Wifi is free and available on all floors. Took a while to get connected and can be slow at peek usage times. A very nice medium priced hotel in the heart of Dar Es Salaam. Also ideal accommodation if you plan on catching the ferry boat to Zanzibar.

We booked for one night, for after our journey from Zambia on the TAZARA train. (We didn’t have much info to go on but anyone from the UK who grew up in the 70s or 80s will understand the appeal) We knew the train was running over twelve hours late but hadn’t expected to be turned out of our bunks on arrival at 03:30. That being the case we made a beeline for the Rainbow in the hope that they’d also be able to put as up for the night before we’d booked, which they could (of course we had to pay for the extra night). Staff were nice, rooms and beds comfortable, and a surprisingly good breakfast (we’d been lead to believe it was continental but there were pancakes, fried potatoes, baked beans, noodles, and eggs cooked to order). If you want a fridge in your room I think you need to book a de-luxe room. Also a good location, very close to the Zanzibar ferry. The hotel also offers an airport transfer service, a bit on the expensive side but hassle free.

The Rainbow hotel is perfect for nights between places- ferry rides＜＜＞＞ international airport to Domestic... Accommodation is decent and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves good Indian food- at least that is all I had. My only comment of curiosity- the showers are odd...
