DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore

My experience with this hotel is truthfully one of the best so far. The service was beyond great I was treated with respect. Also the two gentlemen working at the front desk stayed patient while helping me when I was having trouble with my card to make payment. Would stay there again and most definitely recommend them to anyone looking for the perfect stay.

My friend and I were on a road trip and just 'going with the flow'- stopping wherever we felt like it. This is often hit and miss when comes to hotels, but we were definitely happy with this choice! Big room, extra clean, big bathroom (also extra clean), everything worked and the staff was awesome.

Based on the reviews, I was nervous when my daughter booked this hotel for 8/19 and 8/20 (king room). But I must say, the hotel grounds are lovely and the common areas were very clean and tidy. Our room was clean, spacious, with a comfortable bed and a great bathroom. We both had a wonderful sleep, and refreshing showers. We had a counter area complete with fridge, microwave, and single coffee pot with supplies. It’s on par with the Hampton Inns I usually book. There’s a Starbucks in the lobby area, with all kinds of drinks, made to order breakfast foods for sale, and friendly competent staff. Both mornings they were cheerful and efficient. We didn’t interact with the front desk much, but they were pleasant. Doggie water bowls in lobby. Parking lot was well-lit and clean. I’d recommend, and will stay here again!

This property consists of several small separate buildings, each two stories, with 8 units in each building. The buildings do not have elevators, so if you have a lot of luggage either specify a ground floor unit or plan to lug your luggage upstairs. Even the ground floor units in some buildings require climbing a few stairs. The suites themselves are spacious but austere, and the layout was odd but functional. The full kitchen included a full-size fridge with an icemaker, but there is no ice machine available for guests – if you need ice, the front office manager can get it for you from the kitchen. Breakfast in the lobby building was good, perhaps a little better than average for a place like this. Why anyone thought it was a good idea to build separate units in Boston’s climate is beyond me – it was OK to have to walk outside to the breakfast room in October, but it wouldn’t be OK in January! The biggest problem with this place is the road noise, as it sits between I-95 to the east, US 1 to the west, and Andover Street to the north, with heavy traffic on all three. You can try to get a room in a building near the middle of the property, but all the buildings are close to one or the other of these roads.

The buffet breakfast is rich in variety, the taste of the dessert is soft and moderate, and it changes every day. The indoor pool is big and small, the small is the warm pool, and the beauty of the bubble to eliminate the fatigue of the journey.
