We all loved this hotel. Huge room with a large balcony surrounded by trees full of monkies, chipmunks and all manner of lizards. Great pool. Lovely restaurant who cooked us a very late dinner at 10pm as we had been out all day We used extra services, laundry and room service. It was all spot on. One of our favourite hotels on this trip

The stay was calming and relaxing at this hotel, the environment was away from the buzzling city hence for a tourist who wishes to escape from the buzzling city this hotel is recommended. We had a family of four stayed at the hotel and throughout the stay staff has treated us nicely and food was good. definitely recommend this place for a holiday.

We recently spent 2 weeks at the Amaara Forest, a beautiful hotel surrounded by trees and plants, where the only sound is that of the birds singing and monkeys leaping from tree to tree. The rooms are huge, fantastic shower, a kettle, and cleaned every day. Breakfasts very nice (try the egg hopper), and quality and quantity of evening meals was fantastic (and not at all expensive). On the last night we had an amazing four course meal under the stars, where Maduranga really looked after us. Good sized pool (the pool area was never crowded). Reception staff and assistant manager arranged tuktuks for nearby (Sigiriya, Dambulla, Habarana all 10-15 minutes away), Safari jeep to Hurulu (Minneriya and Kaudulla both closed at the time) and taxis for further afield (incl. back to airport). Special mention to hotel manager Ravi, restaurant manager and his assistant (look forward to seeing the new menu with no spelling mistakes), Thanyu and the ladies at reception. A great base for exploring Sri Lanka, and a truly fantastic hotel.

The resort is set in a beautiful location and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. A shout out to the smiling, friendly young bartender Maduranga, who was awesome, couldn’t do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay and went to the trouble to organise us a traditional Sri Lankan dinner. We would definitely recommend Amaari Forest Resort.

A beautiful and peaceful resort. Location was close to Sigiriya rock and other nice places to visit. The staff made sure that we had an unforgettable experience. From arranging a jeep safari to providing a guided hike to see the Sigiriya Rock during sunrise. After a busy day, relaxing near the pool was perfect. For breakfast and dinner, the buffet had a nice variety of tasty food. Highly recommend this hotel.

We had an unbelievable experience at Amara Forest! The activities such as the safari and sunrise were amazing and unforgettable. The staff were very kind and helpfull and the food was delicious. Traditional Sri Lankan cuisine! The facilities were also very good and clean and the pool is the perfect place to rest. 10 out of 10 experience!

Something a little different and very special. Not like a normal high rise hotel but you room is nestled amongst trees. Great pool and restaurant. Staff are friendly but unfortunately most struggle with English. I had an issue with my shower. No hot water the first day but was rectified straight away. Very poor water pressure the last two days. Internet also went down for 24 hours. Having said that I loved the hotel.

The hotel is in the middle of a forest, I would only recommend for travellers with transportation. We had a driver as we were aware of the location. The common areas (lobby, restaurant, swimmingpool) are really nice, however the rooms specially the bathrooms need a renovation. Our room was nice and big, but the bathroom was dark and very dirty. The daily cleaning was made, but the walls were extreme dirty (little gecco poops were everywhere on the wall). We had a small frog in our shower during our 3 nights stay and we could see on wall where this frog came down and climbing up in the corner because of its dirty footprints. I am expecting more for a five star hotel. Otherwise the food (we had breakfast and dinner as well) was tasty and the staff was also kind. The swimmingpool is also warm which was very nice after a hot day.

A gorgeous resort. Spacious room, delicious buffet meals, friendly staff. I wish we'd have had more time to simply relax by the pool but there's so much to see in that area. We did have monkeys scampering across the roof at night so check your doors and windows!
