Our EF group had a marvelous three day stay here at Hotel Dalvik. The food and service was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the meals had a down home feel. We didn’t leave the table needing anymore to eat. It was great to come back from a long day of sight seeing to have a great home cooked meal.

Super clean hotel with the friendliest staff! It’s cozy in the lobby if you want to relax and unwind and maybe have a cocktail. The views are breathtaking! I recommend this hotel when traveling here for any reason!

The young lady at the front desk was a delight. She gave me all the information I needed about the area (and specially places where I could have dinner - there was only one open at this time of the year). Room was decent size, WiFi was good, bathrooms were clean. My stay was very comfortable. I also enjoyed the sitting area around the front desk - there was wine nice literature that I glanced through. I was here at the hotel just for one night (came in to take the ferry to Grimsey Island next morning and left Dalvík straight from the ferry stop after coming back).

We slept one night in this hotel during the tour of Iceland. the Dalvik hotel is ultra basic, a bit dated, with tiny room but all in all acceptable. The girl from the Czech republic the check inn was very nice. The hotel has no restaurant so for dinner we had to make do with the suggestions the girl gave us (even though there are only two restaurants in the village). Very basic breakfast. It si no more a Fosshotel

We had a last-minute (a month in advance, which is basically tomorrow when it comes to traveling to Iceland in August) change of plans, so this was the only hotel within reasonable distance of Akureyri I could find for a non-exorbitant price. Honestly, I should have spent more, as finding value in this place for $180/night was tough. I know I shouldn’t ask for much from a two-star hotel (really, all I expect is a place to sleep and a clean bathroom - read on to see how well that worked out), but even in high season that’s a lot to charge for: - A “double” bed made up of two rock-hard mattresses with a pronounced gap in the middle - A bathroom that STINKS of raw sewage (this was particularly lovely) - Breakfast of questionable quality for $25/person - A total lack of coffee- or tea-making facilities in the room (there’s a kettle at reception) - Blackout curtains (particularly relevant during summer in Iceland) that blacked out NOTHING About the only nice thing to say about Hotel Dalvik is that if not for the kind and attentive staff, this review would have one fewer star. Honestly, if you’re going to Iceland and staying at hotels rather than campsites, you’re already spending a fair few bucks. Spend just a bit more and stay at a better hotel.

The hotel is very clean and feels welcoming. The owner was friendly and helpful with our horse back riding booking with a near by farm. They came to pick us up and drop us off for our horse ride. The kitchen and dining area is very clean and stocked with fresh food.

Hotel Dalvik is comfortable and in a quiet little town at a small distance from the main tourist areas. The staff were amazing at accommodating the large group I was traveling with. I'd happily stay there again!

The hotel is located underneath a mountain and near the water, it is breathtaking! My bed was extremely comfortable:) The hotel manager made us feel so welcome and did everything possible to make it a wonderful stay. They even bought my friend a birthday cake! Prior to us arriving it was a 5 day in a row Northern Lights Show!
