The neighborhood was not at all what we expected as it was run down, trashy and inhabited by homeless people. The hotel was situated on the corner of an intersection only allowing for valet parking to which was full upon arrival. We were directed to park across the street in the misting rain. There were two parking lots and unbeknownst to us, we paid to park in the wrong lot resulting in a parking ticket. The next night of our stay, there was a parade going on downtown and they had the street to our hotel and parking blocked off. We had to ask an officer to allow us to get to the parking lot we had already paid for. No one notified us that this would be going on.
The building itself was old yet recently remodeled. Our room was unique, like an apartment with plenty of space for our family. Everything was clean and stocked. The staff was friendly and accommodating as far as our stay goes.
We wouldn’t recommend staying here or downtown for that matter. We were concerned we may not have a vehicle or have some sort of damage before the weekend was over.
