Novotel will be my top choice next time I visit Dalian! Absolutely fantastic! This was the most comfortable hotel I stayed at during my Dalian trip. For the first two days, unfamiliar with the city, I booked a highly-rated hotel online based on its location. To my dismay, it didn't even have blackout curtains, and I was woken up by sunlight shining on my bed past 5 AM. I decisively switched to Novotel, which, coincidentally, is located in the same building. I regret that Novotel wasn't a recommended option when I made my initial booking online. **Location:** Situated in the heart of Zhongshan District, it's near Dalian Times Square (luxury shopping) and very close to Zhongshan Square and the charming Nanshan Street. Its excellent location makes it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. A taxi to Xinghai Square only costs around 10-20 RMB. There are plenty of dining, entertainment, and leisure options in the vicinity. **Ambiance:** The hotel boasts a 'light luxury' design, which feels very comfortable and inviting. It's impeccably clean, fresh, and hygienic, with a complimentary fruit platter provided daily. **Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive and include everything you'd expect. There's both a laundry room and a well-equipped gym. The on-site restaurant also serves a delicious breakfast! **Service:** The service is exceptionally warm and friendly, truly making you feel at home. The staff are polite and greet you every time they see you. Even the cleaning staff proactively offer a greeting with a smile. The only minor drawback is that it shares elevators with several other hotels, and there's no key card required to access floors directly, which could be a slight security concern.

Highly Recommended (Genuine review, written while waiting for my flight). 1. It's affordable, and the soundproofing is decent. 2. The location is absolutely fantastic – just 10 meters straight out of the subway exit! About 100 meters away is a Dalian Supermarket, which I highly recommend for a casual browse; it's incredibly convenient for picking up fresh milk, popular local smoked meat patties, chicken frame noodles, and more. Wuxian Xia Xiang (a restaurant) is also a delicious recommendation, only 300 meters away. Plus, there are three or four shopping malls within 500 meters, all easily reachable on foot. 3. The room comes with a mini-fridge, perfect for keeping drinks cold. The staff member was incredibly kind; when I mentioned I needed more water to take out, she generously gave me 6 bottles right away! The only minor drawback is that the laundry room is quite cramped (though you can ignore this if you don't plan on using it). 4. Dalian's weather is truly unbeatable – I really don't want to leave!

The location is very convenient and within walking distance of many tourist attractions and food streets. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We got a free plate of fruits on our first day, and when we checked out, we were given a little goodie bag full of snacks. The water pressure of the shower head is heavenly. It's the best shower head I have ever used in my entire life. It's amazing!!!!

We were travelling as a famliy of four with two boys. We chose the hotel because of reviews and great location. Locations is outstanding, a lot of places to eat nearby, german restaurant on B1 floor, several big shopping malls in walking distance (don't make our mistake, there are TWO big supermarkets in those buildings, one in Mykal, the better and bigger one in the building in front of it). In shopping malls there are restaurants and food courts which is convenient. For us it's been useful because my younger boy is quite selective in food preferences. Hotel personnel had been nice and helpful, not a single issue with them. In the hotel there is swimming pool and some bathing area with smaller pools at different temperature. A great place to attend after long-long day in Dalian. Food selection for breakfast is also quite nice. What issues we had during our stay: Aircon had been barely working. Definitely insufficient for four people in one room, it was too warm to sleep, we had to keep window open at night to try to make it to comfortable temperature. Mosqiutos were terrible, it was suprise that insects made it to 18th floor, but I believe they got in through aircon system. In-room refrigerator had been terrible and not cooling anything. It would probably be similar if there was no refrigerator at all. Overall great place to stay.

HOtel with big rooms, clean bathroom, white fluffy towels and the hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Good to stay here. I like how big the rooms are. Even comes with a wiriting desk. And over room overlook the Russian street. We didnt use the metro in Dalian so am not sure where the Metro is. Taking the taxi from Dalian Railway station to this hotel is RMB 50. Only about 15 mins to get to the hotel. If one like nice quiet atmosphere, this is the hotel to stay.

I was hesitant after reading the reviews about the old facilities, but I finally decided to stay here because of the high cost performance. The service is five stars. A family of three booked a family suite, which is very spacious. The bathtub shower is very comfortable. Convenient transportation. The buffet breakfast is also OK, and the variety is relatively complete at nearly 10 o'clock. It is close to Donggang, and I had Japanese food in the Pavilion Mall near the hotel. I will stay here again next time.

The staff was so friendly and helpful! Even though I couldn't stay as long as I wanted, I appreciated the excellent service.

We stayed at this excellent hotel for three nights during our first visit to Dalian in May. The room was very clean and had some very useful amenities such as a refrigerator, clothes washer and a bidet toilet. It was very convenient to wash our clothes and save money. The staff was very helpful and kind. Mr. Chen helped me find an excellent Thai massage spa (Tai Baba) nearby and helped us get taxis. We are especially grateful to the manager Mr. Leon. He left his busy post at the front desk and walked with me several blocks to get medicine for my wife who was briefly ill. We opted for the Chinese breakfast all three days and it was very good. However, the western food selection was limited. That was not a problem for us because the Chinese food was delicious. We are from the USA. Mr. Leon recommended an excellent Japanese restaurant (Konoha or Jiuye) with a huge menu selection in the same building. We ate there twice and there was a waitress who spoke fluent Japanese. There are many Japanese restaurants in close walking distance to the hotel. Also, the hotel is located near a shopping mall with a huge food court on the top floor. We recommend Chinese and foreigners to stay at the Shan Shui S Hotel when visiting Dalian. It made our trip to the beautiful, friendly city of Dalian memorable.

This hotel is really great! The environment is elegant, the room is clean and comfortable, the bedding is soft, and I slept soundly. The front desk service is enthusiastic and efficient! The breakfast is rich and delicious, with a wide variety. The location is also very convenient, with a business district and subway station nearby. The room aunt cleaned very carefully, and the turndown service was also very considerate, with full marks for details! I will definitely choose this place next time I come, highly recommended!

The hotel boasts an excellent location right in Dalian city center, making it incredibly convenient for visiting all attractions. Plus, there are plenty of great restaurants in the vicinity. Our room offered a lovely view of the Dalian TV Tower, which was captivating both day and night. The hotel staff were exceptionally warm, attentive, and helpful. They always greeted us with smiles and promptly answered any questions, which made us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. Breakfast offered a great variety and was quite substantial, though a short wait might be expected during peak hours. The hotel facilities were comprehensive, including a self-service laundry room. Our room itself was also quite spacious. All in all, we had a very satisfying stay, especially traveling with our children.
