This time I took my two daughters with me, and I wanted to bring them the same feeling I had when I came to Dali more than ten years ago: blue sky and white clouds, white walls and gray tiles, simplicity and tranquility, cultural heritage and persistence in the alternative. Dali has changed so much. Fortunately, I found a B&B called "Guiyuan" next to the ancient city, which preserved the Dali in my memory. The hustle and bustle of the ancient city seems to disappear when you turn around Yuping Hutong. The road here is wider, the rhythm is slower, the sounds are quieter, and the white walls and gray tiles can be seen more clearly. Walking into the B&B, it feels more like arriving in a paradise. A young girl in her early twenties remembered each of our preferences: she prepared sunscreen masks and sleeves for us when we went out. My daughter has bad legs, so she brings our breakfast upstairs every morning so that we can eat without going downstairs. A gentle and elegant lady hostess and the young host accompanied us to drink tea and chat. We talked about tea drinking, art, the origin of the antiques in the shop and entrepreneurship. Suddenly I felt that this was not a B&B, but a young man's inheritance and understanding of the Dali family culture of the previous generation. Through art, architecture, services and other details, he conveyed to each visitor what Dali should be like. Every brick, tile, window, and tea cup of this B&B conveys the collision of tradition and modernity. Traditional architectural features, modern and comfortable rooms; time seems to stop when drinking tea and chatting, and every one of our needs is met so promptly here. It was my first time in Dali and I loved it! The owner, mother and two lovely ladies were very welcoming. The room was well-equipped and very thoughtful. Breakfast was what I looked forward to every day, and it was delicious~ The only regret was that I couldn't enjoy afternoon tea in the B&B due to the schedule, but the lady specially prepared some snacks and cakes for us to eat on the high-speed rail🥹 I have recommended it to my friends~ I must stay here next time I come back^_^

The environment of the small courtyard is very good, and it is very atmospheric. The wisteria flowers are in bloom and the fragrance is pleasant. The food is very light and healthy. The sanitary conditions are good and the housekeeper provides attentive service. There is a farmer's market at the door, which is very convenient to buy some fruits. Go to Dali with peace of mind! The hotel facilities are very high-end and the environment inside really has nothing to say. The room is very quiet and not noisy at all! This may be the most difficult review I think to write. I thought for a long time about how to describe the experience of staying at Guiyuan. It's probably a feeling of going home. The feeling of home started from the moment I met Sister Liu when I checked in. It was like being at home. I took off my shoes and sat on the chair and we started chatting about various things. I usually like to stay alone in a hotel, so I chose the quiet Guiyuan. But after checking in, I often chat with the boss, roast fire, pet the dog and look at the cat. I think the fireworks in the quiet are more charming. From the nutritious breakfast and handmade afternoon tea every day to every care and greeting, from hair bands to band-aids, from the warm baby given before going out every day to the smiling faces opening the door every time I come back, I think it's hard for me to describe this experience of staying in words. Some small episodes of staying in the hotel also bloomed with good intentions in the end, so I am very sure that I will stay in Guiyuan again soon. Everything is wonderful after being connected with Guiyuan. PS Lucky stars are indeed a little fat, hahaha

Stay away from the busy city life, unload all the busyness and fatigue, walk through the constraints of the noisy city, and use the perspective of lying down to look at the sky, the clouds, and listen to the cicadas. Embrace happiness and freedom with a lying posture. "There is a yard, brewing tea and talking about clear dreams, and being a little fairy without anything to do." This Su-style small garden hidden at the foot of Cangshan Mountain has blue tiles and white walls with the beauty of wabi-sabi, and the room is decorated in Japanese style, which is a style that cannot be defined. Tao Yuanming has planted a Peach Blossom Spring in the hearts of every Chinese, and Guiyuan is the Peach Blossom Spring of Dali.

A real home away from home! For the first time, I trusted her hygiene and cleaning without any reason. I felt like I was at home when I went out, and I could use bath towels and bathrobes at will... The tea room, fish pond, peach blossoms, winter plums, old bonsai, everywhere is a scene, every step has a scene... The gentle proprietress, the attentive housekeeper, the stylish young master... Unconsciously, your heart is warmed, adding to the warmth of home. The rich breakfast and exquisite afternoon tea are not to be missed. I specially asked the proprietress, I also want to buy a few beautiful winter plums to continue the memory of Guiyuan!

The hotel is very special, full of design style, antique and charming. The service of the lady at the front desk was great. The staff was very considerate and contacted us in advance to tell us what to pay attention to. There was also access control at night. The things inside were worth seeing. I lived in Haidong, Shuanglang, and finally came to Guiyuan in the ancient city. This is the third time I have been to Dali. The last time was ten years ago. Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake are still so beautiful, but I always feel that something is missing, more commerce and lights, and less of the touching people that Dali originally brought. Guiyuan is behind the bustling streets outside the south gate of the ancient city, with Cangshan Mountain at his back and Erhai Lake in the distance, guarding a piece of pure land alone. After living there for a few days, I realized that this "purity" comes from the inner truth of the Shaodong family, whether it is truth about culture, art, or people, as well as the persistence of the original intention. Thanks to the store owner for upgrading the room as promised and allowing me to live in the most beautiful "Bi Luo". Just lying in the room, you can see Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake in all directions, see the first snow on the top of Cangshan Mountain, and see the sunrise on Erhai Lake. At night, you will see clouds staying under the eaves. The light-blocking design is just right, allowing people to feel a warm embrace without being dazzling, while allowing them to experience the changes in nature from the soft light. Shaodongjia personally introduced the design of the house and how to use it. Each design is very simple, beautiful and unique, inspired by nature, rocks and water. Here you can feel the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. In addition to design, we also pay great attention to comfort, such as relaxing mattresses, silk eye masks, humidifiers, electric blankets, floor heating, automatic toilets, excellent sound insulation, etc. Every detail is paid attention to in terms of vision, touch, and hearing. Through this, a quiet and warm environment is constructed in all aspects. Coming here is like coming to a second home. Every day, you will receive thoughtful greetings from family and friends. The proprietress is kind-hearted and has first-class all-round abilities. From selecting ingredients to cooking, she uses the freshest ingredients and the best seasonings, and polishes them repeatedly. I ate the most delicious rice noodles in Dali here, soft and smooth, with a light sweet and sour taste and fragrance. There are also delicious soft meat buns, both Chinese and Western. At the beginning, she would also ask me carefully about my eating habits and try my best to prepare delicious meals. The last person who was so attentive was probably my mother 😂 In addition, they will considerately introduce local attractions to me according to my needs, and tell me about the local customs, religion and culture. As I talked, Dali came into my heart. When we come back every day, we can share our travel feelings together, ask questions about my feelings, and prepare warm patches, alcohol wipes, sunscreen masks, and bottled water. Christmas spent here is also very lively, warm and rich. You can draw gingerbread men together, eat cakes, drink rose tea, hold puppies, and bake by the fire. Every guest who comes here can hit it off immediately and chat like friends. I think it’s all thanks to this place. Every day is so beautiful and touching. Then, I thanked Shaodongjia for introducing me to his museum and telling me about ancient Chinese culture, from the Book of Changes and the Bagua to the Doctrine of the Mean. He told me the hotel's business philosophy, his dreams and persistence, and also told me the story of every plant and tree here, every room, every fish, the different seasons, and the changes in Dali. He took me to eat the most authentic food. Makes me feel a sparkling heart. When you come here, you will not only find the truest Dali, but also the truest heart and home.
