One of our favorite hotels we have stayed in 3 months of traveling around China.
The manager is extremely friendly and kind, he helped us with so many things as foreigners. He also took us to many unique dinner recommendations and meals.
The location is excellent! Located on the North side of the Ancient City, it is much quieter and less touristy than the South area - you can hear the birds chirping every morning.
The hotel itself is very beautiful, well designed with a lovely courtyard in the middle and an amazing view of the mountains from the roof top - don't miss the sunset views!
Overall, we loved it so much that we ended up booking it for 3 more nights, and then booking it again! We just didn't want to leave Dali after finding such a great hotel!

Nice bed without breakfast run by a young 40 year old. Off to a side street. Electronic room cheaply retrofitted. Big room decent bed bring eye covers because room will not be dark. Basic extras but ok for the price. No restaurant a bar that appears to be available for use but not open. No refrigerator but owner lets you use his. He gave me a beer helped with my suitcase and bought us lunch. Has steps so if you are handicapped this is not a good choice. Has a lookout on the roof with limited seating. Nice view of the area and mountains.
Easy to go to old city and many food choices and bars and shops and wet market near.
I may return for a month if owner will give me a family discount :)
