We had the best time in Dali, especially thanks to our hosts. They were conscientious，caring, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. They sat down and had tea with us after we struck up a conversation, which was so welcomed （we had a Chinese speaker in our group who could translate). They also kindly rented us motorbikes for a much better rate than we saw anywhere else. These were key in getting around! Another example of how they went above and beyond is when we went to the top of a local mountain and didn’t know to purchase oxygen due to the altitude, the hosts gave us some “just in case.” We ended up needing it and were so grateful!
The room was clean, comfortable, and had gorgeous views. The AC and internet worked well, and there was a nice sleeping space and work space. The location was super close to the ancient city (5 min walk), while also feeling like a peaceful, secluded getaway. We much preferred this to staying in the ancient city itself, which is loud even at night. We couldn’t recommend this place enough and will certainly be back some day！

The location is very convenient. It takes only a few minutes to walk to the Dali Ancient Town opposite. I booked a family room with my friend. The room is very spacious, with a wide view and a swivel TV. The downside is that the bed is too soft and does not support the force, making it uncomfortable to sleep. There is also no dry and wet separation in the toilet, so it is easy to slip when going to the toilet after taking a shower. The overall cost performance is very high!

The B&B is very clean and tidy. You can see Cangshan Mountain. It is not far from the ancient city. The boss lady is very nice. She gave us flower cakes and fruits when we arrived and helped with the luggage.

At a time when 90% of the land is rented by outsiders, Kuangye Yunyue is an authentic business run by indigenous residents. The B&B's owners, a family of Dali Bai ethnic minority, are welcoming and attentive. Kuangye Yunyue is situated at the highest point of the village, nestled against the backdrop of Cangshan Mountain, offering breathtaking views. The decor and design have been meticulously considered, especially the incredibly comfortable bedding, ensuring a restful sleep. Parking is ample and convenient at the entrance. It's an 8-minute walk to the ancient city's Red Dragon Well, and after a satisfying meal, a short hike back to the B&B is a welcome relief.
The hostess was warm, approachable, and down-to-earth, chatting with me with a smile. Her youngest daughter offered candy, flowers, and cakes upon meeting me...
It felt like home, and the price and experience were well worth it.
Every time I pass through Dali in the future, I'll choose Kuangye Yunyue.

Let me say here that if you go to Dali, you must be careful when choosing shared electric vehicles on the roadside. The return locations are really bad. You cannot return the vehicles in many places, especially near Erhai Lake. We spent money on illegal parking dispatch fees and we cried our eyes out!
