Chaoge Youth Hostel (Dali Ancient Town South Gate)

Super cute and social (more so if you can speak a little Chinese) with lots of space to meet people and hang out! Many people seem to be staying for a long time so it feels like a little family ＜3 The guys at the front desk were great and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Room and bed is clean. There are a few washing machines, dryers, and water dispensers all free to use. It also has a movie room and karaoke room if you ever need one. Location wise, it is located in an alley right infront of Dali's south gate, very convinient. Walking a few hundred meters outside you will be able to access Dali's bus system, easy to travel back to the railway station. However, the toilets are abit messy and moldy, but still clean nevertheless. One thing I dislike was even thought it is a non smoking room, smokers would often open the doors and smoke right outside the room, filling the room with cigarettes smell. Toilets would also occasionally smell due to the cigarette buds thrown into the toilet bins. But aside from that, it is a very good hostel that is worth for your money.

Great location and a nice modern hostel inside the city walls. Unfortunately the two others in the room had there stuff everywhere, unsure if this really was those or the hostel not removing less left by previous guests. Staff were friendly and helped me book my bus to the next location but did give some incorrect information about the things to do in the local area

It is a beautiful hostel in a perfect position into the ancient town… services are really great and the owners are really helpfull and kind
