The hotel is very quiet, good position. In view of the previous comment I'm glad we refused the room behind the llft & went instead to 306 at the end of the corridor. The staff are friendly & helpful & breakfast is fresh & varied. But the room ! Clearly the designer has never spent a night in it. Drab colours, black furniture & a dog's-mess-brown sash across the beds. The open bathroom may not be to everyone's taste ( it wasn't to ours ). The reading lights are recessed over a wide wooden ledge & just not strong enough to read in bed. The light switches are difficult to get at under the ledge. For those who like to shave, illumination is only available on forehead & the tip of the nose : the rest is in shadow. Possibly the toughest challenge was blocking the water in the basin : there is no plug. Perhaps there is, in the elaborate high-tech tap fitment. If so, neither reception nor housekeeping, both appealed to, knew anything about it. Finally shoved a hand -towel into the plughole, just like the bad old days in Eastern Europe. Take your own

Small stay 1 night in couple.
With regard to the reception, it was, staff was very pleasant and explaining things quite well.
Attention to your arrival, their underground parking is expensive ( € 20 ) and this is not specified in the description.
The rooms are very clean and modern, but to sleep it was horrible. The matlas, for my part, was horrible, too soft, but my girlfriend, she, appreciated.
The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable.
There were 3 ”” Offer ”” drinks in the refrigerator, that was really very good.
For lifts, it's quite special, there are three but one one who goes to the SPA. They are very flippant, very small, make huge noise, you don't have to be claustrophobic, especially that once we are staying temporarily blocked in because the reception button did not work.
The spa is super, there is a classic sauna, a Finnish sauna, a wave sauna, a hammam, a swimming pool ( quite small unfortunately ) and a beautiful jacuzzi, if you have the chance to enter it, because it always has people in it.
The breakfast was perfect, a huge choice, nothing to reiterate.
In conclusion, it is a beautiful hotel, but it doesn't deserve the price to pay ( 170€ per night, and it was still with remise.. ) and that is more equivalent to a 4-star than a 5-star, based on previous experiences.
For the outside, Liège, we don't have too much appreciation, first and last time. Very poor, abandoning, in work, very dirty.. We are happy to come back, it's sad to say.

Easy to find in city centre, has parking next door. Reception lobby is more of a bar/restaurant - definitely unusual, but we had no problems checking in. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, clean & comfortable with some nice design touches. Wifi worked well. Only -ve was aircon is behind curtain so didn't work well at night, but will only matter on hottest days. Breakfast was good, although we ate out in the evening as we felt we ought to see the evening life on the streets of Liege. Traffic is currently tricky because of tram line construction, but will be great once that is finished. DOn't let it put you off.

We stay a lot in Van der Valk hotels in The Netherlands so we thought let's try out this hotel in Liège as we are always pleasantly suprised by the high standards and quality of the rooms, staff, etc. We booked an executive room and as it is very spacious (almost twice the size of a standard room) it lacks some features that we are accustomed in Van der Valk hotels. The most notable is the lack of a separate shower in the bathroom. We did have bathtub with a showerhead but no option to hang it up. So we ended up sitting in the tub whilst holding the shower! Even the most basic rooms at other Van der Valk hotels have a separate rainshower and most of the time also a bathtub. The bed itself was okay, but the pillows were substandard and shouldn't even be used anymore. The total cleanliness of the room could be a bit better. The staff in the hotel is kind and helpful, except for the lady at the breakfast service. I think that this wasn't her day. We don't speak French and the staff doesn't speak Dutch so we talked English. Not all of them where very fond of changing to English instead of French. When we had diner our waitress was very kind and attentive. So a big shoutout to her. All with all this is not a Van der Valk hotel that lives up to the reputation that we know and love it by. The possibility for us visiting this hotel again in the future is very slim.

We had booked a suite to see what the best possible experience in YUST could be. We were lucky to do so. The room had a quite luxurious feel to it, with some cosy elements like the curtains around the bed, that in combination with the turning TV could make the bed feel like a private cinema! The cleaning was oke and all necessary kitchen tools were available. Unfortunately it was too cold to use the rooftop, and the city construction works around the building make the parking a bit difficult to find. All taken into considerations, I would recommend!

Gi ﾕ It is close to seeing the signboard from platform 1 of Man Station. The front is an image in the back right of a narrow alley. It is a beautiful hotel! However, our room is room 113 on the road side, right above the hotel signboard lighting ❗ I'm short of sleep due to the light leaking from the curtains all night! I regretted that I should have changed the room early.

The grounds and buildings of this property are breathtakingly beautiful, like a film set that could never be real. The staff exude an air of formal, graceful professionalism. The surrounding region (drive the rural route to Val Dieu abbey) is comprised of mile after mile of impossibly beautiful agrarian hills and valleys dotted with perfect little towns like Teuven. There is a quiet restaurant and bar at the Chateau but the town of Valkenberg just up the street has a collection of livelier bars and restaurants. The buffet breakfast on the property is excellent. Visitors accustomed to the speed and sharp edges of modern life will need to adjust here. Time seems to move more slowly. Our rooms were gigantic, bigger than many apartments and the attached patio overlooked an orchard. The small kitchen had an oven/microwave, electric range and small refrigerator. The furnishings, however, were from another era. They were in pristine condition and comfortable and staying in the room was a step back in time by about a century. Not a complaint at all. Miles of nature and cycling trails start and end from the chateau that apparently sits within a wildlife preserve. The region appears to be a hub for competitive cycling and roads leading in all directions are calling to be ridden. Stay here, breathe the fresh air, wander through the trails and art installations. Turn down the speed of life. Don’t expect to come here for a dance club, fitness center or urban experience of any kind.
