It was such a blast! On the way back home we stayed for one night in this hotel. It was an amazing evening with a Michelin level dining, esthetic & delicious meals, great service - applause to the whole team. The room was clean, with a separate entrance - directly to the garden. I must brag that evening storytelling was so fun, interesting and I learnt some intriquit facts, complimentary water, portvine & chocolates were provided, bed made with rose petals. And sleeping masks given too. I loved to be at this place which reminded me overnighting in Pakruojis mannor in Lithuania - both historical places & very special ones. Dalen hotel is surrounded by a breath taking nature, has sauna, excellent staff, skilled pianist, and way much more. Highly recommended! Once again - a great work

If you would like to travel in time visit this fabulous hotel in southern Norway. It has been a delight on all fronts, architecture, food, service and magical surroundings. All this makes the Dalen Hotel a unique place and a gem in the overly commercialized world that we live in.

Motel vibe. I have no idea why this is rated how it is. See for yourself. Also speaking to the supervisor was the worst experience i’ve had at any hotel. Check some of the photos from other users and then you’ll see why i felt the way i did. Anyway my two cents

Absolutely worth including in your Norway trip. Amazing atmosphere, attention to details, outstanding service - memorable experience! Tip: hike to the top of mountain in front of hotel is well recommended!

Exellent hotel, food and service. This must be the most beautiful hotel in Norway! Combined with the boat-tour on Telemarkskanalen, and walking-tour (30min) to the old Rui houses, this is a uniqe experience in two days (and we have seen a lot!).

Love our stay at Dalen Hotel, I think this might be my favorite hotel in Norway. We felt like we were actors in a costume drama like Bridgerton or Downtown Abbey. The Historic hotel is just so we'll maintained, that you get the feeling it's been in operation constantly since it opened in 1894. Dalen Hotel is three hours from Oslo, situated in a quiet Fjord, with amazing food and a stress free environment. There is a must visit Sauna a 5 min walk from the hotel, down by the fjord: Soria Moria Sauna The best thing with the hotel is the dedicated staff. They are quirky, interesting, dedicated and very knowledgeable. Loved them. They also serve amazing cocktails, one of the best ala carte breakfasts in Norway and impeccable dinners. We will return soon and bring friends! ❤️
