What an incredible stay! We reserved a glass cabin and the experience was so unique and a perfect get away. The staff were all extremely attentive and friendly throughout our stay. The views of the river were amazing and we enjoyed sitting out by the water and relaxing. Would highly recommend !!

TuTuTun has been an annual event for us for 13 years. The location on the mighty Rogue River is beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing; the main building rooms are lovely, warm and inviting; the grounds meticulously maintained; the staff efficient and friendly; and just overall, a magical place for us. That being said, there have been a lot of changes in the past two years with new ownership. Kyle, the former owner, poured his heart and soul into the lodge and maintained a staff of like-minded people. Their work ethic created a very special atmosphere of warmth that, along with spectacular property and accommodations, made TuTuTun exceptional! All but 3 of the original staff have left. The new staff is great, but just not the same. The warmth is gone. The new owners clearly have a different target demographic - the young, rich and beautiful - with serious marketing efforts in place. They are ignoring the Oregon coast and river culture and trying to replicate the high end resorts of Mexico and Southern California. Being from the east coast, this seems to be purely business for them. There is now typical "resort music" coming from poolside speakers and the common patio all day until 9PM, disturbing the serenity of the river - just plain wrong on so many levels (and quite possibly a deal breaker for us). Guests come here to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy nature the way it's meant to be! The prix-fixe family style dining is gone, something the lodge was known for, and replaced with a ridiculously over priced, very limited, novelle cuisine menu. They do serve 3 meals a day now but, again, the menu is over priced and limited. The 18% service fee on bar, dining AND room is extreme and so out of place in Oregon. And what can I say about the robotic answering service, in place as opposed to the original live human being? We realize new ownership means a transitional period. And we want to give them grace as they go through their growing pains but we may not be far behind the many other "old timers" who have chosen not to return. We love TuTuTun and it will forever hold a special place in our hearts! And... despite my negativity, I will continue to recommend it.

What an amazing place. Beautiful location. Excellent service throughout the resort. From housekeeping to wait staff , reception and even the landscapers stop to answer questions. The food at the restaurant was excellent and the wine selection and sommelier outstanding. We stayed in a glass cabin , what a change from the usual hotel room. We also booked a Jerry’s jet boat tour and they pickup at the resort dock. We hope to return someday.

A quiet luxury haven, staffed with lovely, friendly people and where every detail is tasteful and of excellent quality. The views are breathtaking and the food is amazingly fresh and tasty, excellent cocktails and brilliant wine as well, with special attentive guidance from lovely sommelier Garrett. The breakfast waffles are extraordinary. Only downside is mysterious 100$+ ‘service fee’ that adds an unexpected significant cost to the room price and taxes. A bit more upfront transparency on that would have been appreciated.

This is a top quality hotel in virtually all respects with the exception of service at breakfast it was so slow we had to leave B4 getting any food. I was not the servers' fault, but they need more staff to deliver the top quality of service the rest of the stay delivered

This lodge sits on the picturesque Rogue River and is a very beautiful piece of property. That is about the only positive thing I can say about my stay. This place is very expensive and for what I paid, I thought my experience would be better. Be warned, there is NO A/C in the lodge rooms. It was in the mid 70s the day of our trip and our room was baking in the sun all day with windows closed. By the time we got there our room was an oven. We tried opening the balcony doors and bathroom windows but the bugs were bad and got in our room. The lodge gives you a tiny fan, but it doesn’t do much to help cool off the room. The other negative was how the staff interacted with us. We felt very unappreciated as guests from the bar service. At one point the bartender left without saying a word to us for close to 15 minutes. We thought we might get another drink, but decided to skip it, because the wait was ridiculous. We also interacted with one of the bar managers, who was cussing like a sailor. I don’t get offended much by foul language, but it’s a poor look when an employee is dropping f-bombs left and right in front of customers. We didn’t eat at the restaurant because the menu was so overpriced. There is a “secret” bar menu but we heard about that after we drove back into Gold Beach to eat. All in all, the Tu Tu Tun just wasn’t worth the price we paid and we would never stay here again.

A very mixed experience. We had been to this lodge 3 times in the past few years and not since new owners took over 1 1/2 yrs ago. It is definitely not as welcoming, unique and charming as it was. Much more "California" resort feel, rather than an Oregon feel. The pricing has increased dramatically. A feeling that the owners are more focused on making money than being a welcoming unique destination. The new chef and the bartender are both excellent, attentive and engaged. However, it's "a la carte" menu instead of the family-style prix-fixe style (with a couple of choices) as it used to be and shared tables - this really changes the ambiance, less Oregonian and interesting. Also, some of the portions are a little skimpy, given the pricing (we're beyond "nouvelle cuisine" in these times). The wait staff is borderline, very friendly but needs training (2 hours till we got our main course on our 2nd night, we had to get our own wine at the bar twice). There is an overall feeling of slight disorganization both in the reception and the dining, which isn't what one expects. We stayed in a new glass house, which is interesting and unusual (aquarium-like) but needs some fine-tuning (more shelf space, hooks), has no windows that open or views of the river. Beds are very comfortable, good amenities (coffee, toiletries, turn-down service, housekeeping). They automatically add an 18% service fee to everything, meals and room. Maybe tipping instead would motivate the waitstaff. All in all, it could be an amazing resort matching the high price, but the new upper management needs to invest in training waitstaff (and maybe an extra sous-chef or two during peak season). As of now, we don't think it merits its price point, it's just not up to that standard. And it's just not as unique and appealing as it used to be, sad to say.

The Tu Tu Tun lodge is a slice of heaven with room for improvement. For a $770/night room, we would expect two ply toilet paper and potentially breakfast included with our stay. We also would expect a working AC unit. We stayed in one of the mirror houses on the river and had a glorious stay, waking up with the sunrise and the river sounds. The house was very hot and the AC never quite cooled the house down. The food in the restaurant is a good effort, but the delivery was poor. Both steaks we ordered as well as the shishito appetizer were undercooked. The sauna was an incredible experience. Pool divine. Access to water sports amazing. Walkability of the property amazing too. My husband and I are counting down the days until we can stay again, and hope that with new ownership the property continues to improve in overall delivery because it is a true slice of heaven.
