The hotel is very well located. Beside the sofisticated shopping batel. It has classic decoration and gentle staff. The superior apartment is very wide but “vacuum”. Follow a sofa or a chair. I booked this hotel after seeing great reviews but ‘Great’ is not something I experienced. Staff were unwelcoming, check-in took about 15mins where the only word spoken to us was “passport”. It should never be an expectation that staff be fluent in English (but it helps) however to have 0 communication was disastrous. Even asking for ‘red wine’ the evening after took several attempts. There were several plug sockets in the room that did not function as well as tv remote that did not work. Little things like this I could have reported if I felt the English level of the staff in the hotel was adequate. Instead we just had to adapt. Breakfast was good and the location of the hotel in Batel was perfect for my work visits. Gym also had a great view and was spacious. But definitely not a place I’d choose to return to and hope other non-Portuguese speakers receive a better welcome and experience than I did!

Hotel looks nice but their billing and food service are awful. They refused to cook me a vegetarian meal, telling me I should eat chicken. Eventually they gave me a plain plate of chips. I complained at check out and the hotel took the price of the meal off the bill. Excellent, I thought that was that. No such luck. A month later, the hotel billed my credit card for the meal. But they didn’t send an invoice. With no invoice, I couldn’t claim on my expenses and I wasn’t even sure this was for the meal - it could have been fraud. I repeatedly called and emailed the hotel but they ignored me. Reported to head office also, but they took six weeks to reply and still sent no invoice. Eventually got a local colleague to sort out the mess. I understand the hotel actually broke Brazilian law charging a credit card when the card holder was not present.

A acomodação é estilo flat com dois ambientes distintos, tendo cozinha bem estruturada, sala com sofá cama, poltrona, mesa de trabalho e TV. O quarto tem cama de casal bem grande, guarda-roupa espaçoso, criados mudos e TV. Há uma ótima pia com espelho externa ao banheiro permitindo o uso de ambos de forma individualizada. Há shopping, comércios diversos, praça e estação de bicicletas nas imediações do hotel. Excelente hotel para estadias curtas e longas!

We had a whole day on the road, it was over 10 a.m. and we had a little child, we just took bath and went to bed, the next morning we notified the air and the reception staff sent the technician. We returned from the tour afternoon, and we were informed that the technician was preparing the air, but it was not working yet. We opened the air and saw a dirt crust, we returned to the reception to tell that, besides not working, it was completely dirty. There was room available to exchange and we spent the second night in heat. In short: we spent 4 nights in heat because the technician who said to clean the air, at least did not spent a pan in the air conditioned. In our 5ª night they managed to exchange us to a room that The new room was running with the air, the air was swallowing water into the room, and the room was flooded, the amazing floor was already all-smooth and broken, indicating that it was an old problem. Stay was incredible. The flat is huge. The staff are lovely, especially Alan and Henrique, I would like to send my hugs to them. Not to mention the location, which is incredible. Right in the central area, close to shops, restaurants, everything within easy reach. I also found it to be a very safe area. I intend to return.
