Dream of the Green Flamingo

Neatly renovated basic bungalows in a lovely small bungalow park. Super well helped by employee Selim after the flooding after the storm of May 4. Point for improvement: getting the emergency power supply in order. Due to power failure no cooling, no wifi (so no communication in case of emergency) and dirty swimming pool.

We stayed in the park for 3 days and enjoyed the peace, nature and birds. It is a top location with lots of privacy. The bungalows are clean and fresh. The staff is very hospitable. We will definitely book for a stay again!

Starting with some positive points: Friendly management Good air conditioning Very quiet park centrally located on Curacao. Lots of beautiful birds around the house (and a single iguana). Potentially nice swimming pool, but requires some upgrading (sunbeds/decoration). Park with a lot of potential if properly renovated in the future and not expanded with more houses. Belongs (now) to the cheaper ones in Curacao. Now the negative points (unfortunately): The entire design is very outdated, is called basic but can be called more shabby, but well done. Very bad bed with torn sheets and pulped mattresses. Broken, faded and stained towels and drying towels. Shabby “bathroom” without hot water (shave with a pan of warm water from the kettle from the kitchen). Shower with small jet of semi-hot water, really crazy for words) Noisy (well-functioning) refrigerator Poorly working sewerage (without down pipe). Vent via bubbling sink, even if neighbors use the toilet!! Old furniture and faded sunbeds Uncomfortable lighting (with only 100 watt lamps, also in the bedroom!) No flowering plants, empty flower boxes, polluted concrete paths

At this place you are far away from the resorts and you are really in nature. The iguanas sometimes sit close to you, the sugar thieves come next to you to snack on the sugar and the orioal wakes you up with its calls. The park has attached apartments, but we have not seen our neighbors all week, you both have your own entrance. The apartment we had was a 2-person apartment with an extra bed for a child. This in itself is easy to do. After all, you live more outside than inside. The apartment is equipped with everything you need. Even a cool box for the beach is available. There is no TV, but the WiFi works excellently. It's not all new so there are pieces of the tiles, a crack here and there, etc. So don't expect a 5 star resort. Lovely swimming pool with some beds and shaded areas. The park is not very large/busy, so we regularly had a private swimming pool. There is not much to do for children besides the pool, but the birds, iguanas and lizards are an attraction in themselves. Our son spent hours spotting lizards and iguanas. A rental car is a must! We had already had these prepared at the airport in advance. Then you can immediately determine your own pace upon arrival. The beach is a 10-minute drive, Willemstad center about half an hour. Highly recommended to relax.
