Lagun Blou Resort Curacao

We spent 4 nights at Lagun Blou. There's good and not so good to say about the resort. First of all we arrived in the afternoon of what we thought was the hottest day we ever experienced, to find a cottage with no air conditioning on the ground floor, only in the bedroom upstairs. Sure, you can open 2 doors downstairs or use the provided fan, but all you get is hot/humid wind blowing through the living room/ kitchen, with no meaningful change in temperature. There's no TV, the house needs a lot of improvements (safe doesn't work, doors are either flimsy or hard to open, bathrooms are just ok). Having said this, the place itself is absolutely beautiful. The cottages are steps away from the cliff and from stone-rimmed little terraces, from which you can enjoy amazing sunsets. To swim you can walk down the steps and jump into clear and inviting waters that are brimming with fish - a snorkeler's paradise -or walk to the adjacent small beach. Lots of gorgeous larger beaches can be found in the vicinity of the resort as well. The grounds are also beautiful, with lush and well kept vegetation in the middle of which there's a bar/restaurant area. It's quiet and perfect for someone who's looking for peace and relaxation. If you're the big-resort type this is not for you. While breakfast is always available, the restaurant is not always open, depending on the availability of the chef. Thanks to Nasha, our very helpful and courteous front desk assistant, one night we were lucky enough to catch chef Brian and his sommelier, who gave the two of us the most unique personal-chef dinner experience. All in all we think that with some necessary improvements and a little more attention to detail (a bottle or two of cold water in the fridge or some coffee by the coffee machine on arrival would go a long way) this place could become a little gem.

I really wanted to love this place but too many cons outweigh the pros. Pros,The staff are friendly and very helpful. Location is absolutely paradisiac and magical. The view from the premium apartment balcony was magical. The fact that the property was steps from Playa Lugun was amazing and their private access to clear waters and wonderful snorkeling was incredible. The bed was comfortable. Cons, the apartment (#19) is very OUTDATED, along with the furniture, where there were visible stains on the couch that I was deterred from sitting on them and unable to enjoy the living room, plus there’s NO A/C and it gets extremely hot (only upstairs in the bedroom and if you go over 15 kw / day you’ll be charged ). The bath mats had stains on them. The upstairs sliding door grates and is hard to open. The fan in the living room was extremely dirty and dusty, but when I asked for it to be cleaned it was instantly cleaned, along with the very smelly bathroom upstairs, (they immediately put chemicals in the toilets and sinks to remove the smell). The kitchen is old and I felt I had to wash anything before I used it. If you’re looking for a great location with magical views and won’t be spending much time in your room, this is the place. But if you’re looking to relax in a clean apartment without worrying about using too much electricity and A/C and with ocean views, there are other options at a better rate. I know it’s rated 3 stars, however, I’ve stayed at a 3-star property in Curacao before and it was very clean and newly renovated for a better price for the same time of year. I agree, the location here in Lagun Blou is what you’re primarily paying for along with a spacious apartment, but I’m sad to say, I won’t be coming back here on my next Curacao trip.

The scenery was beyond words. Cliff, jacuzzi, iguanas, peace and quiet, amazing hosts. The hotel is a bit outdated, but they intend to redo everything by next year and it is going to be amazing, so we intend to return. The shortcoming was no air conditioning downstairs, only in the upstairs bedroom that had a wonderful, large terrace. Cats and iguanas that can be fed and petted. 7 minutes driving to Kleine Knip, a wonderful, sandy, small beach, with the most unbelievably clear, transparent water. We didn’t even have to snorkel, we just put the goggles on and you can see wonderful and colorful fish swimming around. The hosts can accommodate a romantic boat trip at your leisure, it is far from the maddening crowd downtown and close to the quiet beaches on the west coast of the island.

We stayed here for five days and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere of the resort is extremely relaxing with lush greenery, 2 pools and amazing views of the ocean. There was an awesome platform that we jumped off of to snorkel near the coral. Walking distance to playa lagun, 10-20 minute drive to other stunning beaches (grote knipe was our favorite and only 10 mins away). The 2 bath-1 bed apartments were a little outdated, as there was no AC on the bottom floor, but we didn’t stay in the apartment much so it didn’t matter. The bedroom had air condition that was sufficient enough. The only con to note: throwing toilet paper into garbage can instead of toilet. But, understandable. There is also a loving black cat that they rescued who roams the resort freely. Everyone is welcoming- especially Manu at the reception desk! Thank you for a wonderful stay. Will definitely be back.

My wife, granddaughter, and I contacted Lagun Blou Resort to rent jetski's for a first time adventure for our granddaughter. We were contacted immediately by Joyce, and scheduled a meeting Orlando at Playa Santa Cruz. We were contacted by Joyce early that morning and met with Orlando who brought the jetski's to the beach. Orlando was professional, friendly, kind, informative, and awesome. Orlando set us up in the water and we launched. We had a wonderful experience. The jetski's worked perfectly, no issue there. Once we returned, Orlando spoke with us about the activities and property at Lagun Blou Resort, and invited us to visit. My family and I took him up on the invitation and we visit the resort. The property was clean, it had a serene vibe. There's a nice size pool on property, as well as a smaller jacuzzi pool overlooking the ocean. You can literally take a dip in the ocean, as well as scuba dive at the back of the property safely. The property offers jetski, fishing, and scuba access (I believe they have tank rental). I recommend Lagun Blou Resort. My wife and I are planning on staying at the resort for our next trip to Curacao. absolutely MAGNIFICENT property! when I booked 2019, I was given an option to also rent a vehicle which I did. The property owner & family are incredibly hospitable. This resort is extremely relaxing and conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and the beach!

The grounds are absolutely stunning. The jacuzzi in the back overlooking into endless sea over cliffs and possibly the best sunset in curaçao make this place worth it. Plenty of paths and chairs to have privacy and pool inside which seemed nice. And a shower area that is very pretty wished someone showed it to it as we spotted it on the way out. The rooms themeselves have a bit room for improvement. My main issue is the first floor has no AC. You have to keep your window open which is fine but mosquitoes /bugs get in. The second floor does have AC but it’s the second floor which is good bc you get an even better view of the ocean but bad bc you need to carry your things upstairs. Some tl&c like no lamps in the side table or wall upstairs. Had to grab one from outside. Pillows were very firm and walls need some painting. Staff is extremely pleasant !!!! They helped with a flat tire. Got us coffee when we needed it. Kudos to those guys !

A wonderful, relaxing spot for us to start our Curaçao visit. This property changed hands on January 1st and the new owner is eager to update and improve this lovely spot. Orlando and his wonderful crew were friendly, personable, and very quick to tend to any issues. We loved our location overlooking the cove and went to the beach every day. Our only regret is that we did not try snorkeling. Bear in mind that there are very few groceries in the area and you need to stock up in Willemstad if you want to have some food on hand. Also, bring along a couple of those magnetic screens for patio doors so you can leave your door open at night to catch all those wonderful tropical breezes! (We found this out too late :( - will definitely do it when we return!

Lovely local resort. Next to playa Lagun in Banda Bou. Very friendly staf. Interior houses is nice. Best is the great sea side where you have sunchairs, small pool and the best sea view of the island. Some nights is there a bbq or restaurant service.
