Visited today , first impressions were good. Excellent customer service, staff very attentive and pleasant. Food mediocre and expensive. Burger and smoked haddock were quite dry, however the chips were beautiful! The hotel itself looks nice and well maintained but I don’t think we will be back to the restaurant.

Really nice hotel just outside Cullen but a very easy walk to Cullen. Our room was really clean and modern. Bed was very comfortable and had a good size bathroom with shower over the bath. We planned to eat in the restaurant on the first night and maybe look somewhere else for the second night. However the food was so delicious we decided to eat here the following night too!! Breakfast was also really lovely, all piping hot and obviously cooked to order. All staff were really nice and very attentive. We really enjoyed our two nights away here. Felt like we had a nice break. Only minor down side was that the bar was a bit lacking atmosphere in the evening and maybe would benefit from a wee update. But overall we had a fabulous stay and would definitely return in the future. Keep up the good work !

We went for a meal. Lovely views, warm entrance. The menu looked great. The food was average but in our opinion wildly overpriced. I ordered a sea food platter costing £33. It was basic. Monkfish scampi only gave 4 pieces of scampi. The kids burger was a reheated frozen burger and not terribly nice. The wine we wanted wasn’t available so had to pay £10 more for the only other one we might like that was available. The waitress chewed gum throughout our service. Not a brilliant experience unfortunately.

We had a lovely one night impromptu stay here as both had a rare weekend off. The hotel was hosting a wedding, congratulations to the newly weds, and we both expected to hear some noise from the evening do, which is only to be expected from these celebrations but never heard a thing. The room, a sea view was lovely. It was rather warm due to the weather, so duvets were not required. We woke up to lovely blue sky's and a sea view. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. I had scrambled eggs and salmon. It was very evident that that products was fresh. My fiancé had the Scottish breakfast, again all great fresh Ingredients. We would absolutely stay again, as we love the area. Just hopefully for a couple of nights next time.

This was our first time at Cullen Bay Hotel, and won't be our last. We found the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a stunning location overlooking the bay - well worthwhile booking a room with a bay view! The bedroom was excellent and the ensuite had an amazing shower. Food at the hotel is excellent - you need to try the Cullen Skink. Service both for dinner and breakfast was efficient and friendly. If you enjoy walking then this is a must visit place.

The hotel was small, with amazing views, and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Our room was comfortable with a good bed, although the route to our bedroom was winding and up and down stairs - not easy with a suitcase. The staff could not have been nicer- very friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented and clearly frequented by locals coming to eat there too. Beautiful view of the sea from the dining room and a lovely informal atmosphere, where diners dressed however they wanted. We would definitely stay there again.

It's a while since we've been to the Cullen Bay Hotel but we are so glad we booked there for dinner! As usual, we received a warm welcome and after a couple of drinks in the bar we were taken to our table. We were fortunate to get one of the window tables which provides a fantastic view of Cullen Bay and surrounding area. The view itself makes the visit worthwhile on its own! My wife and I shared a bowl of Nachos, which we knew would be more than enough knowing that the main courses still to come would be a good size. They were lovely and tasty. The mains were delicious. I had the Highland chicken. The chicken was so moist and tender and the haggis stuffing was beautiful, served with a lovely sauce, vegetables and the best mashed potatoes I've had in a long time. My wife had chicken fajitas, which she thoroughly enjoyed with the usual trimmings. The puddings were too tempting to ignore and we shared a baked Alaska and a fruit crumble. They were delicious and made a lovely change to the usual puddings found on menus. My wife and I had a lovely evening: very friendly and attentive service; beautiful food and a fantastic setting. Thanks Cullen Bay Hotel.

Had a brilliant time at the Cullen bay hotel at the end of May. The weather was great. We had 1 day of fog and rain out of the 10 days we were in Scotland for. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every one. The room was comfortable although we looked out over the car park and the countryside. We had a comfortable sofa so we could sit in the room when we needed to. It was spotless. The sheets and towels were lovely, white and clean. A good shower too. The lounge area needs a little attention to make it feel more cozy. It was quite dark and cool but this was such a small issue we didn’t mind. We ate in each night and the food was delicious. We tried most things on the menu and were never disappointed. Breakfast menu was good too. My husband had kippers 3 times fresh every day from the smoke house in Buckie. The chef came out to check he had enjoyed them. Staff were excellent. Every one of them but especially Gail, Marian, Caitlin and Keira although they were all as good. They remembered our names and room number so we never had to tell them when we were ordering food or drinks We can’t thank them enough for making our holiday in the north of Scotland as memorable as possible. We can recommend this hotel to anyone

What a lovely place! I visited with my husband in April and despite me being ill and the weather being pretty awful, we had a really nice few days - our room was great with a comfy bed (most important thing!) and superb view of the sea. The staff were nice, especially Carrie in the restaurant who was always cheery and rather than flinching away from my appalling coughing even took the time to find us a lemon for our (medicinal!) hot toddy. Our turret room was delightful (and I wonder if we were given this one because the staff remembered my comment on booking about the fact this was a (very) rare break for the two of us - many thanks if so, it made the stay feel extra special; congratulations to the previous occupants who had apparently become engaged during their stay!). Good restaurant food and tasty breakfasts. We would like to come again - hopefully in better weather and health!
