Although the hotel is located next to a busy road, it is undeniably beautiful, with carefully curated details and good food. Unfortunately, our experience with the couple who runs it was deeply disappointing and worth sharing as a warning. We stayed for two nights, the second in the so-called suit room. On the morning of checkout (10:30 a.m.), we were getting ready to leave and decided to use the moisturizer provided in the room at around 10:15 a.m. Immediately after applying it, we both had a severe allergic reaction — my partner on the neck and shoulders, and myself across my entire body, which became red, swollen, and burning. We had to rush into the shower to calm the reaction. At 10:40 a.m., while we were still trying to recover and get dressed, the male owner knocked on the door and, without stepping inside, told us very rudely to get out of the room. I have never experienced such aggressive behavior from hotel staff. We explained what had happened, but he simply sighed loudly and walked away without another word. Ten minutes later, as we were about to leave, the female owner arrived. We again explained the allergic reaction and even showed our swollen necks, but she showed no concern whatsoever. Instead, she focused only on the fact that we were “late” checking out. In short: if your stay goes perfectly, the place may be enjoyable. But if you encounter any issue, don’t expect kindness, empathy, or even basic professionalism. I travel often, and I have never been treated so rudely and dismissively by hotel staff anywhere.

From the start we felt rushed at this hotel. Encouraged to have dinner early, nagged for making last bar orders at barely 9pm, asked to start breakfast within a mere 15 minute window... All of this is may be somewhat understandable given the place is a small family-run operation, but paying over £200 a night surely deserves more flexibility? Then came checkout time, and real amaturness of the hosts shone through. Having both had an allergic reaction to the provided body lotions (my partner has sensitive skin but this has never happened to me!), we took a second shower at 10.30am to wash it off. At 10.40, our door was knocked asking us to check out, we explained the situation and that we'd be out ASAP. The host sighed and stormed off like a child, not showing the slightest bit of concern for our situation. Just as we were about to vacate the room, the other host comes knocking to whom we showed our obvious allergic reactions to their products. Again, we received an incredibly unprofessional reaction and frustrated attitude. They just wanted us the pay and leave. Me and my partner travel a lot and this rude treatment was truly shocking to us. The hosts are not trained in hospitality and would be advised to do so before setting up such a business. The lack of empathy is more worrying though, this can't be fixed easily. In summary, the hotel is nice and has potential (be warned of the busy road though), but if you want to be treated well I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

We stayed at two BnB’s during our trip to Scotland and Suie Hunting Lodge was one of them. It is outstanding! The room was beautifully restored and decorated. The lodge itself was so inviting and the breakfast was the best we had encountered in all of Scotland. Next time, we will reserve a seat for the special dinners. We will be staying here again !

Nice quiet hotel in a lovely area. We were a little disappointed with a couple of things however. After an awful journey from Norfolk which took 10 hours we arrived very weary at 7.25pm, our restaurant booking was for 7.45, we asked the lady checking us in if we could delay it until 8pm in order to freshen up with a shower to be told that they were very busy and it was not possible. We therefore went to dinner at 7.45 to find only 2 other couples eating, no one else turned up. Dinner was ok but there were no desserts left, so left a little bit hungry still. Surely a privately run hotel can have a little bit of flexibility and enough food for a few guests. We had to leave at 8am and were offered a takeaway breakfast which consisted of a yoghurt, apple, banana and pastry. All in all not a terrible experience but dont expect too much with regards customer service

One of our favourite locations in the highlands. The lodge is in an ideal location for a getaway, nestled among the mountains. Our room was comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed spending time in the lounge area with wine and a dram from the bar. All staff were very friendly. And dinner and breakfast were delicious.

This was the second time we visited the Suie Hunting Lodge. We visited in July 2023 and we were blown away by the experience we had to rebook again. It did not disappoint. The hosts Pauline and Robbie were so welcoming. The food was outstanding and the room just perfect. I would classify this boutique hotel as a hidden gem in the rolling hills of Stirling shire. Not too far from Edinburgh and Glasgow but far enough away to feel so refreshed and relaxed after a two night stay.

There was friendly staff, the lodge had beautiful views and a nice interior. The lodge feels authentic. Breakfast was good. The lodge lays secluded, which also means further away from other activities or towns. No further comments from us.

A particularly beautiful hotel. It may seem inconspicuous from the street, but the interior is very tastefully decorated. We had a wonderfully quiet room and an even nicer bathroom. Not to forget the upscale restaurant and the friendly hosts.
