Overall this hotel is fine, there are very basic things they can do to make it a much better experience for guests. As you arrive the grounds, bushes, carpark and generally all around the hotel is just dirty there was rubbish everywhere and as the bins are just open that probably doesn't help but it really wasn't very appealing to see as you walk in. The receptionist was pleasant enough however gave me very little information about the hotel or where to eat/ how food and beverage in the hotel works, I had a company meal allowance that they didn't even know if the restaurant next door would be able to accommodate. They also read my room number out to me and as a solo female traveller this made me somewhat uncomfortable; my room was one of the first ones which meant all day/ night people were coming and going loudly talking/ walking/laughing and it did keep me up (I know there's not a lot they can do about other guests - its just an FYI some rooms are very close to the restaurant/reception so people will be walking past constantly). The room itself was spacious however, it being on the ground floor meant there was constantly people walking past the window which was just awkward so I kept my curtains shut throughout my whole stay. There was also a pretty strange smell in the room it was a little damp smelling. Then on checkout it was hard to find a team member to talk to as I had a question about breakfast, then when I finally managed to get someone to help, they didn't ask me how my sleep was or how the stay was etc. not even really a hello. Overall there were just lots of small things that made the stay a bit rubbish and the team members just seem really disinterested, I will probably look to stay elsewhere next time im in the area. The next door restaurant is nice enough, staff are pleasant and food was nice and the atmosphere in the bar was lovely; menu is a bit small but that didn't really bother me.
