I am so glad to have discovered this wonderful place to stay in Normandy. The location is excellent for exploring D-Day sites and Bayeux. Our room was all stone and wood beams, oozing with historic charm. The bathroom was modern and spotless and the bed really comfortable. If you don't want to have to deal with a lot of stairs, let the hotel know in advance. We made advance arrangements for dinner in the restaurant the night we checked in, and the atmosphere and food were excellent. The next night we had a charcuterie board in the small bar for dinner and enjoyed it. Breakfasts are hearty. The grounds are lovely, with roses blooming everywhere and plenty of places to sit outside to enjoy the setting. The original 13th century part of the building is where luggage is stored, and when I asked about it, the front desk attendant took us to see the tower, which was a real treat. Finally, a note about the staff--everyone was uniformly friendly and helpful. I haven't always found this to be the case in this post-pandemic world, but at La Ferme de la Ranconniere, everything was perfect. Highly recommended.
