Near 360 degree views over the surrounding countryside. Close to the Pennine Way. The property has plenty of free parking. "It was a spacious room, nice and comfortable mattress. Although it is next to the main road, it was quiet at night.
Lovely view to the back, they call it river view. It is a cannel where had a lot of ducks, geese and swan swimming up and down.
A good place to stay."

"On arrival we were greeted by a chap who I think was the owner who was very helpful and gave us our room key.
On entering our room was warm, heated by a portable electric radiator. The central heating was off.
On first inspection it appeared clean although there was a receipt just under the bed.
The bed was a king size but was very tired and not very supportive of my bad back. The springs creaked when you turned over.
The most disappointing aspect was the bathroom being cold and there was NO hot water. There was a heated towel rail but as there was no central heating, we couldn’t shower.
We were staying with another couple across the landing who too had no central heating and no hot water. Their bed had a memory foam mattress which they were happy with.
I went down to the now unstaffed reception to find there was no way of contacting the owner by phone.
Plus point was the Tv worked.
Regrettably we wouldn’t book again."

A very quite location 3 miles from the start of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks walk, if you want the challenge, or just walk from the Cottage door to Catrigg force waterfall, see salmon leaping (October) at Stainforth force via the stepping stones or just pop to the local pub.
