This remains a superb hotel, set apart from the crowd by its supremely picturesque location & its efficient, friendly staff. Marsha is a force of nature at breakfast & Liam is a brilliant, courteous breakfast waiter who also manages to entertain! The whole operation runs smoothly albeit the evening dining in the Garden Room has not been properly thought through but the brasserie is excellent, under Conor’s masterful leadership. First rate.

Great visit to the spa on one of their daily packages. The staff were super attentive in particular the manager Steven and Alexia. The food was great as well. We will go back.

Had a lovely time in the spa or just sitting Infront of the fire chilling with a drink, the staff were great and couldn't do enough for us, especially Martha and the young man at breakfast, bed was comfy, shower amazing and fancy ( we couldn't work out how to use it at first 😄) , toiletries were Amazon from the Chatsworth Estate...would have sat longer before we left but we booked the steam train ride down the road ..

Met for Sunday lunch in the Brasserie for a family celebration. The beef and lamb were tough, Yorkshire pudding was rock hard, the roast potatoes undercooked and hard in the middle and the fat they had been cooked in tasted old. We were given one carrot and a single stick of tenderstem brocolli (again undercooked and rock hard) per person. And paid £25 for the worst Sunday lunch I’ve eaten (or not because it was inedible) for a long time. As my parents were treating us we didn’t want to make a fuss at the time so I emailed the hotel when we got home and six days later they’ve not even had the courtesy to reply. Very very disappointed in the food but in contrast service from the staff was excellent.

Went for a spa day today and a member of staff had rang in poorly so my husbands treatment was cancelled, Steven at the spa couldn't have been any nicer about he offered us a free upgrade to a tent, a bottle of presecco and a mud treatment for my husband instead. He was really a lovely man thank you so much for making it a memorable experience

We called in for drinks and all seemed fine until the bar manager was heard moaning about how they had to serve 3 walk in customers and it was normally a quite time. He went in to swear using the F Word. When we challenged him he originally denied it and then, when pushed, he apologised. The other member of staff was very apologetic and looked very embarrassed. When hospitality is struggling, this attitude to customers as an annoyance and the arrogant inappropriate attitude is shocking. Especially from someone clearly in charge. I have since contacted the hotel directly to raise my concerns but was fobbed off with a standard email response and felt dissatisfied. Very unhappy and won't be returning. A hotel of this stature should be delighted to have guests popping in. The prices suggest a better standard of service and quality.

Had a lovely spa day. The pool and jacuzzi were amazing, so were the sauna and steam. We had a light lunch included that we ate in our private bell tent that was a real treat. We had a mud treatment which was much better than expected and my skin feels great. We also treated ourselves to a 45 minute massage, my therapist alexis was amazing and I’d definitely be back

Beautiful hotel, stayed in Beamsley which is perfect for families with 2 floors! Prompt, professional & lovely friendly room service from the brasserie team on a busy Saturday evening , the food was delicious and really well executed. Great service from Duncan at the spa, Ryan and the reception team. Housekeeping standards were great and beds super comfy! Didn’t want to leave, can’t wait to return.
