The Richard Onslow

Loved this place! The staff were very welcoming, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was great, and everything was very clean and well decorated. The breakfast was very nice too. Cranleigh is an interesting little town with numerous individual shops to explore.

Lovely, characterful hotel and super food. My second stay and I was looking forward to my roast dinner the whole journey. Would be even better if the restaurant stayed open a little later, but on the plus side the pub closes early which is good if you need an early night.

Every thing excellent, will go again. Staff polite and very helpful, rooms all clean and comfortable ,food excellent, can’t find a fault with the place.will certainly book again if down that neck of the woods. Thank you The Richard Onslow for a wonderful stay.

Stayed one night in this well located large pub with rooms conveniently located on Cranleigh high street. The staff are young, enthusiastic and helpful which made our stay memorable. The food is served in a very large light room with huge sash windows looking out on to the high street There's plenty of space between the tables. Food is freshly cooked and well presented your having chosen it from an extensive menu and wine list. Breakfast is outstanding and the best we have had for many a year. The full English is a very large plate of top quality sausages, eggs etc. plus fruit juices and freshly made ground coffee.You won't need lunch after this meal as it sets you up for the day. The only negative I would point out is the lack of reading lights in the bedroom which is the commonest fault when staying anywhere in the UK. The lighting was decorative rather than functional. One bedroom lamp didn't work and likewise in the bathroom lighting was very poor. The bedroom was well furnished and despite being on the street side of the building was relatively quiet I would recommend The Richard Onslow to friends and would be happy to stay there again.

Good menu choice and table service. Seems to be a popular local pub / hotel with one or two good draft beers, as well as reasonably good dining venue in the centre of town.
