Two chaps in their 50s who stayed one night, after a bike ride around the island. I can’t take the credit for finding The Caledon, but I’m so glad my friend did. Brilliant location. Short walk downhill to main area of Cowes. Great spots to eat and drink and buy yellow and red waterproof sailing clobber. Mark and his wife have thought of everything and the little touches often make a huge difference. They are also both super friendly and relaxed. Great bed double bed in my room with a proper mattress and great pillows (also important). Shower cubicle is snug but does the job. TV remote works without shaking the batteries and pointing it towards the moon. Brilliant breakfast pre ordered on the app (these two have embraced tech and it’s great). Mark did my poached eggs twice because he wasn’t happy with the first two. Others wouldn’t bother. Should also say the IoW coffee was excellent and arrived in a very generous sized cafetière. A secure bike shed with a few tools if needed was a bonus (Mark rides). So this is a brilliant hotel for cyclists (probably not the whole of your local club). Our rooms were ready when we arrived at 11.30 which again was a welcome bonus, and gave us a few more minutes to faff around before we set off. My room was spotless and imagine my mates the same. I’ll stop now. Suffice to say it’s a great hotel and we will be back when we do the reverse loop. Thanks for having us and see you next time.

Its always a joy to visit Caledon again and catch up with Andrea and Mark. The house is always homely and bright, and the rooms are modern, bright with everything you need and more. The breakfast was wonderful, lots of choice and all local produce. Various local products can also be purchased to take home. There are opportunities to buy drinks, snacks, local produce and even a phone charger, through an online link and purchase system. My wife and I will be back to Caledon when we next visit the Island.

First visit to The Caledon and would definitely recommend. Impressed with easy self check-in, pre-ordering breakfast (which was delicious) and any queries instantly answered. Very clean comfortable rooms and walking distance to restaurants and the sea made it such an enjoyable time away.

The self check-in and check-out were so easy and convenient. The room was spotless — truly showroom standard — with a beautiful, modern bathroom. Complimentary tea and biscuits were a lovely touch, and the option to enjoy a gin & tonic or half-bottle of wine, paid for simply by scanning a QR code, was brilliant. Breakfast was outstanding, with every possible choice covered. Ordering via the app was effortless, and there is even the option to have it delivered to the room made it feel extra special (although I decided to eat in breakfast room). The location couldn’t be better — just a 10-minute stroll from the Red Jet passenger ferry, right in the heart of Cowes. A perfect stay from start to finish!

This is a fantastic b&b with friendly hosts and lots of flexibility with where to eat / when you check in/out etc, everything has been well thought out. Great veggie/vegan breakfast options. We loved the sea view room, already looking to rebook. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at The Caledon in West Cowes. Our hosts Mark and Andrea had really thought of everything to make our stay as seamless as possible; from the welcome brochure which helped us plan our trip, to our easy check in and check out experiences. We booked through The Caledon’s own website rather than via other booking platforms. Breakfast was epic, with delicious local produce that kept us going all day. It was lovely to come home each evening to soft lighting and calming music in the lounge, which had a free to use filtered water dispenser and ice machine (and a selection of drinks and local produce and art to purchase too). Our clean, spacious room had a picture postcard sea view, a selection of teas and coffees, and yummy local biscuits. There were a few flights of stairs to take the case up so worth bearing in mind. It was our first time on Wight and The Caledon is in a fantastic location, ten mins walk to a great choice of brilliant restaurants and bars, fifteen mins to the red jet foot passenger terminal and ten minutes walk to the floating bridge for East Cowes/vehicle ferry/Osbourne House. There’s also a bus stop right outside with connections through to Newport and from there anywhere in Wight.
