Fountain Inn by Greene King Inns

We were over on Isle of Wight for the day. Had a delicious lunch and a few beverages at The Fountain Inn. Our Waitress Nicki took such good care of us, so warm and friendly, just like the atmosphere in the pub and beer garden. Highly recommend stopping in.

We certainly made the right decision when we booked the Fountain Inn, Cowes, Isle of Wight. Being foot passengers on the excellent Red Jet ferry from Southampton, where we live, we needed accommodation close to the ferry and town. The Fountain Inn was just that! Booking was easy, the room albeit on top floor was excellent and very quiet. Breakfast was to die for. Very attentive & friendly waiters, barpersons etc. Lovely outdoor eating & drinking area with views over harbour & to mainland. Spacious indoor pub area too. If there had been a lift we would have given a 5 star rating but I must add though, in the hotel managers defence, we were offered a 2nd floor room but as it was only 1 more floor and advised that it was a larger room we took his advice. We're so glad we did. Location was perfect with buses, shops, other pubs, restaurants etc all within walking distance. We were able to use our bus pass to travel free around the Island on the excellent bus service. All easy peasy for us pensioners. Thank you Fountain Inn.

The Fountain Inn is a delight. Perfect location right on the harbor and steps from the Red Jet and from the bus to Newport. We had a large room with a very comfy king-sized bed. Customer service was superb, from allowing us to check in early (our room had been vacant the night before so it wasn’t being cleaned) to Simon’s fantastic and fun service in the restaurant. Food was great and drinks were delicious. The included breakfast was also yummy. Highly recommend this spot to stay while visiting the gorgeous and stunning (and every other positive adjective) Isle of Wight.

we visited the restaurant and just like anytime we have been before the food is amazing, lovley service and the staff are so friendly, our waitress was Nicki and she was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend visiting, will definitely be returning

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights last week. We had a harbour view and the room was lovely. Everything provided. The staff were exceptional. Everybody genuinely interested in us. Andy was phenomenal fixing my wrist after a fall. Cannot thank you enough for that. The food was also really good. We will be back.

We stayed here for just one night on a weekend visit to the Isle of Wight - while we were here we had lovely food and very kind and attentive staff (Katelyn) - also very nice room with cosy feel - we really enjoyed our stay in this super dog-friendly accommodation :-)

Me and my husband came in for breakfast and we was pleasantly surprised, the food was fabulous lovely fresh produce and great quality, the service was wonderful the lady that served us was very accommodating and friendly, we will definitely be back! Highly recommended

It gave me everything I needed. A comfortable bed and a quiet, clean room to stay in whilst visiting a poorly friend. The staff were pleasant, kind and helpful and my room was moved when I pointed out the difficulty with the bath tap. One young person behind the bar was somewhat off-hand when we thought we might have a meal but changed our minds because the table in the bar was dirty and two glasses had lipstick still on them. I feel proper training is needed here. The hotel itself was very tired - a hot tap that was furred up on the bath/shower that I couldn't turn on, the chain missing from bath and sink plugs making it very difficult to drain the bath - it would have been impossible for even slightly arthritic hands. I was also disconcerted to find that there was no fire exit route map displayed in the room and if there had been a fire, and the stairwell filled with smoke, I am uncertain how I would have got out. I understand that a refurbishment is happening soon and I presume that most of these matters will be addressed.

Great check on, great staff, very friendly and there to help. Room in poor condition, no heating and no hot water . Meant to be in for 2 nights, checked out after 1 . Great food offering, shame about the state of the premises.
