A maddening hotel. It's been severely cost-reduced and maintenance-deferred. However it's still good - EUR30 dinner with wine can't be beat, rooms are comfortable if creaky and the location is fantastic. It was once great. Now just good.

I booked a stay and had some follow up questions - emailed multiple times and called yet never got answer. I then had to change my plans and was charged a hefty cancellation fee when I sent a cancellation 1 day too late. I understand that I cancelled too late but that would not have happened if I had actually got a response in the first place. Email reply that they never received anything from me although I still had copies of my enquiries

At first I was with a little doubt, to my surprise the 3-day stay was unbeatable. The food was great, clean and large rooms. My congratulations to the staff, overall impeccable treatment with the entire group. We will definitely return.

Unique views and location. Building with history. Spacious rooms. Comfortable mattresses. Acceptable food and breakfast. At breakfast there is little space to serve yourself and for people to pass by. The parking is outside and anyone can park. This is a pending issue. It's not that you don't have a place as a guest, it's that there is such a rotation of people who park in a hurry that it is difficult not to get a knock on the door. There is definitely a lack of personnel, they are few and they are there for everything. The "normal" exit from the hotel is through the cafeteria and out onto the esplanade level with the entrance to the Cave of the Virgin and the Basilica. The problem is that it closes at 7:00 p.m. And if you go with people with mobility problems, who cannot use stairs, there is no choice but to go down to the reception floor BY THE ROAD and at night. It is urgent that they put an exit, parallel to the cafeteria, directly to the aforementioned esplanade. There is another small cafe or pub, which opens at 6:00 p.m., staffed by reception staff. Summary: pleasant stay and easily solved problems and yes, more staff, please.
