Red House Hotel

9 of us out for Lunch, We were hurried in and served 30 min before our time slot, It was because they had a funeral party booked also..and i have to say poor service and i was served a cold meal, not even warm, I had tasted it and asked if it was to be cold?, Waitress said no, took it back and ages later after it was micro waved, put down in front of me..Lucky it was not a chichen dish!!. Had to repeatedly ask for water on table, ( most places put a jug of water on for you) The rest of my family said foor was edible!, The pea and ham soup was like water... Very very expensive for what was on offer at that standard, Will not be back..

I came for lunch with a friend at the beginning of the week. It was my first ever visit. Food was nice and the staff lovely however, we ended up leaving earlier than we might of as it was impossible to have a conversation without having to shout above the noise levels in the conservatory area. I returned at the end of the week with another friend for my second visit. This time a very loud group of male golfers again made it impossible to have a proper conversation. When the conservatory only had a few people in it there was a nice atmosphere but as the tables filled it became louder and vey uncomfortable on the ears. It also caused problems for a friend with hearing aids. I think the hotel either needs to have less tables in there or do something else e.g. divided sections between tables to make it more pleasant and relaxed. In future if I ever go back (both experiences have put me off returning any time soon) I'd ask not to be seated in there. I'd give 5 stars for the staff, 4 stars for the food and only 1 star for the conservatory area.

Just back from the hotel. Had 3 great days there. The staff made you feel welcome and went out there way to help you. The rooms were clean comfortable.The restaurant was very nice . The food was excellent and there was wide choice on the menu. We were on a golf trip so it was ideal for us . We will be back next year.

Day 1 of a 6 day stay. Evening meal 10/10 Pork Medallions in a smoked cheese, leek and bacon sauce - just tremendous. Breakfast. Quite the best I’ve had within my memory. Bacon, superb . Sausages and black pudding brilliantly seasoned, mushrooms properly fried, egg great and a portion of beans. Service second to none. What a start to the week.

Our go to for a night out, very friendly helpful staff, great food, excellent menu with something for everyone, mid range prices, easy to get to with loads of parking. We both had the fish, chips & peas fish very big and yummy. worth trying out.

This is our 2nd year at the Red House for our golfing group of 12. The reception upon arrival was brilliant and very smooth check in. The rooms were clean and airy, no complaints. The food was magnificent, the speed from the order taken to serving all 12 of us was fantastic. Alan and the gang are soo down to earth and made our stay memorable. See you all again next year
