Couldn’t be more disappointed with the total experience at this hotel this evening when we stopped off for dinner. Chicken curry was the worst we have ever had served. Although waitresses were pleasant enough, service was very poor. And to add to it all my partner had chewing gum stuck to his trousers from the underside of our table. Not the hotels fault but it just added to what was already a very poor experience. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

Visited the lovely Highlands Hotel in the Glenties over Easter and stayed for 3 nights with our dog to explore Donegal. There is free parking around the back of the hotel. We got a lovely dog friendly room (room 22) which was great as it was right beside the door for us to be able to take the dog out etc. Room was spacious and spotless. The staff are lovely and friendly. There wasn't a big choice of continental breakfast but there is quite a few options on their cooked breakfast menu which will most definitely set you up for the day. We had our dinner in the bar on Easter Sunday & Monday evening, my husband's burger was delicious and my roast beef was lovely. Sirloin steak was cooked to perfection and the battered fish and chips was also very tasty. All in all, we had a lovely stay, it was great being able to bring our dog with us.Thank you for an enjoyable and relaxing Easter break. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice country hotel. Visited for an evenings dining with family and friends on 29th July. The food was as it always is, exceptional and tasty. The staff were extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly and service first class. Couldn’t find one fault with anything, spent a little while in the bar having a few drinks also and service was friendly. Efficient, with kind and professional staff. Long May this place keep its charms.

I have stayed at the highland several times over the last 35 years. They have hosted us for weddings, family gathering and the occasional funeral. All of my fondest and meaningful memories of Glenties at some point involves The Highland Hotel. Their cozy bar and dining area are simple and elegant. I have had to many meals to count of steak and potatoes with the works. All of the staff and family that I have interacted with have always been kind and helpful. When i couldn't stay at the family home The Highland was the next best thing. Great food. Great people. Great memories.

We traveled with our adult children and stayed at this lovely, very friendly hotel in Glenties. We came to see land that our family owned close by and staff couldn't have been more helpful in suggesting who in town might know exactly where it was and how to contact. We were there on a Tuesday night/Wednesday morning -so was easy to get a table to eat in the restaurant and no problem with breakfast the next morning. If you are wanting to explore Donegal area- this is a lovely choice of a hotel.

Staff were great, especially receptionists and bar staff. Room was ready quite promptly. Rooms, however, could be improved slightly they were rather dusty and light didn't work. They were spacious though!

This is a large-ish hotel in the pleasant small town of Glenties - worth straying off the Wild Atlantic Way to visit and to stay. We stayed for a quiet Sunday night and the hotel was relatively empty, certainly helping with the peace and quiet. The room (once used by Meryl Streep during a film shoot!) was very comfortable and clean with everything you might need. The bar gave us a very nice post-dinner drink with the young staff desperate to look busy and serve in the empty space. Breakfast was a little unimaginative but did set us up for the day. Overall, a very good place to get a good night.

We visit this hotel fairly regularly. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. The food is great. The hotel is very comfortable and homely. We always look forward to our next visit. I cannot praise this hotel and staff enough. Hopefully we will be back for Sunday lunch very soon.
