Lake 21 is a small 69 acre quite lake with no public access and great fishing!Beautiful views from deck. Cottage is located toward the end of a private cul-de-sac.The cottage sleeps 6. With one full size bed and two queen beds. Also has pull out sofa in living area for kids.Kitchen is fully stocked.Bathroom has sink, toilet and showerBath towels, sheets, pillows and blankets provided. Gas grill is ready for use on the deck overlooking the lake.There are several stairs to the water and beautiful new deck with it's own dock.The 15' aluminum Grumman boat w/15 hp, 4-stroke awaits with a full tank of gas. Bring your own fishing gear.Good swimming off of the lake deck.Your private watercraft is not allowed on the lake. Extra sleeping on sofa bed in the living room is available as well as an extra inflatable twin mattress. The waterfront is sandy and shallow, perfect for the little ones; about 100ft of shallow water. The lake gets deeper soon after the dock and is a popular spot for fishing year round. Guests can enjoy the lake with our kayaks, paddle boards, paddleboats, fishing rods, outdoor grill and using the bonfire pit right next to the lake. Are life vests provided?We provide 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards (each with their own paddles), and 2 paddleboats. Life vests are available in the storage bench. Please note that these are shared with the second rental on the property.Is the grill propane?Yes, it is a propane grill. Each guest is responsible for properly using and cleaning the grill after use.What are the check-out instructions?We’ll send you detailed check-out instructions the day before your departure. If you'd like to review them earlier, feel free to message us.Can I use the waterfront area?Absolutely! The waterfront area is shared between Lakeside Cottage and Casa Lakeview. We kindly ask that you be respectful of our other guests and share the watercraft. There are plenty of water toys available for everyone to enjoy!Do you have a boat lift I can use?We do not have a shared boat lift. Our only lift is currently used for our pontoon boat (which you're welcome to book separately—just message us for details). However, you’re welcome to tie off to the dock. Please message us in advance to confirm dock space availability for your boat.How do I access the dock?You can access the dock by following the path on the left side of the Lakeside Cottage property (4246 Trails End Rd). This path leads directly to the dock, where you’ll find our rentable pontoon, kayak rack, and paddleboats.Can I use the unopened snacks, soda, or condiments in the fridge or pantry?Yes! This is our summer home, and we love sharing what we’ve stocked with our guests. We run this on the honor system—if you use something, please replace it with a similar item. Before checking out, please discard any perishable items. You’re welcome to leave unopened, non-perishable goods for the next guest.Is there a grocery store nearby?Yes! We recommend Tom’s on Gun Lake—it’s the closest option and well-stocked with everything you need, including beer, wine, ice, fresh produce, and a meat market. Welcome to this quaint 660 sq ft cottage on the 2,680 acre Gun Lake. Memories are to be made on this all sports lake with 5,200 acres of trails nearby at Yankee Springs Recreation Area. The main level is a full kitchen, bathroom, laundry & living area with a queen size Murphy bed in the living area. Upstairs in the loft are 2 twin beds & a full bed. No actual bedrooms. Upstairs balcony overlooks the lake. Outside you have access to 2 adult kayaks, 2 child kayaks, & a stand up paddleboard.Guest accessThe covered patio has a patio table with seating for 6 as well as a gas grill.Feel free to use the sporting equipment that includes yard games, basketball hoop, kayaks, and a paddle board (Life Jackets are supplied).You are allowed to dock your boat at our dock directly behind the house free of charge. There are plenty of boat rentals in the area as well.You will find multiple board games for those rare rainy days as well as internet for streaming Netflix, Hulu .... etcThere is a firepit and plenty of wood available for fires by the lake. Pro Tip: Bring the plastic Adirondacks from the garage into the water for an ideal place to cool off and spend the day.*note - the dock and swim area is directly across the street from the house.Proximity to Bay Pointe Inn – only ¼ mile down the road and easily walkable. Whether attending an event or just grabbing dinner, Bay Pointe is a great place to enjoy beautiful views of the lake from its upper deck.The 3-season porch is our favorite spot to hang out. It's a great spot to read a book or gather your crew. Open all the windows and enjoy the lake breeze or the early morning crisp air. Even on rainy days, it’s the perfect place for coffee or wine.At the end of a long day of fun in the sun, gather around the Solo Stove for bonfires and smores.We often hear that winter is the best time to be on the lake. The lake freezes over so it's a great spot for ice fishing or hockey and is incredibly peaceful in the winter. Snowshoe trails are nearby. The house has radiant heat, mini-split heat pumps, and an electric fireplace to cozy up near after a day of winter fun.The driveway provides parking for up to 6 cars.Convenient access from Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and most of southwest Michigan and the central Great Lakes region. Only 10 minutes east of US-131.Guest access:You will have access to the entire house. We keep our boat at the dock and store a few tools and supplies in the garage, so we ask that you respect these areas. We will make any areas of the garage that are off-limits clear, but other than that, the house is yours to enjoy!Other things to note:We encourage you to open the windows and let the lake breezes flow. We added mini-split AC/Heat Pumps in all upstairs sleeping areas and the main floor in the Spring of 2024. The cottage has radiant boiler heat throughout and is great for all seasons.We also added a fence in the front yard in the Spring of 2024. This cozy 3-bedroom cottage offers a sandy beach with fun in the sun required!Sleeping 5 to 8 inside, you'll find 3 bedrooms, one master with a memory foam queen bed, a bunk room with a twin over full bunk bed for family, friends/kiddos, a versatile futon in the sunroom for privacy for one, and a queen new pull-out couch in the living room. The sunroom has great views when you pull up the shades, but also has many fun board games as well as a TV with throwback vintage Nintendo systems for a rainy day!The bathroom features a stand-up shower and a convenient washer/dryer combo. In the living room, there's the mentioned queen pull out coach, with cute swivel green chairs for being part of the convo or spinning around for a view of the water. There is a TV over the fireplace with AppleTV and an Apple Homepod for streaming your favorite music with room filling sound. There is also a Nintendo Switch TV dock connected for your kiddos to log in when they need a break from the sun.There is a full size table for dinner and/or card games and cocktails. The kitchen features a smaller table for two with comfy seats, a coffee bar with new appliances toaster & microwave.Outside is where you'll be! Toes in the sand or laying out in the sun. Swimming and fishing off the dock. Canoeing to explore the lake (great boat rentals near by with public access if desired!). There are outdoor games like corn hole, badminton and more. Plenty of room to run around in the grass or relax on the zero-grade patio while you have a picnic or grill out. Reel Time is a cozy blue waterfront cottage and will make time fly. Inside, is an open floor plan on the main floor. The main floor has one bedroom with a queen bed and one full bathroom. The living area has a recliner and a sofa that has 2 recliners built in. There is a fully functioning kitchen, a table to sit at, and an island that is great for food prep and people can sit around as well. By the kitchen and Living areas go out the French doors out to a large deck with beautiful views of the water. We also have a table out on the deck to eat and hang out at. The second-floor loft has another queen bed with bathroom, walk-in closet, and has view of the water from the large upper windows. There is a walkout basement with laundry area and a cool tv/hangout room. The cottage also has high speed wireless internet. The sofa in the tv room also pulls out to a queen bed for extra sleeping. Outside, you can loose track of time….if you have kids there is a giant sandbox that will keep them busy for hours. We have a few sand toys located in patio area for the sandbox. Kayaks and paddle boat available to enjoy on the water. We also have a pontoon boat available at an additional cost. Please ask if interested. There are a total of 4 lakes connected by channels for hours of exploring and fishing. We also have beavers and bald eagles on the lakes See if you can find their nests and dams or the trees they chop down. Back on land, after enjoying the day on the water, fire up the blackstone grill for supper. Enjoy a game of bags (corn hole) before relaxing by fire pit, gazing at the fire and the gorgeous water views while eating s’mores. We even have a outdoor hangout area for you to enjoy and a second refrigerator for beverages and/or extra food. If you are still outside as the night quiets down be prepared for the symphony from nature (bullfrogs and crickets). If you want to venture out from the cottage there are many local activities that can be enjoyed by all. Below are just a few of them...
