Not too sure where to start! The place it self - A Goldilocks experience- not to big not too small, just right. Very good quality pub food priced right. Their winter deals are very very enticing- we booked our next stay before we left. We had so many plans with where we would go when there, but in the end ate, drank, relaxed, walked a little, sat back discussed projects done and to do. No restriction on returning to our 4 star en-suite room and felt like valued guests. We cannot recommend highly enough.

What a wonderful place! Stayed one night while exploring Lynmouth and Lynton and had a really superb time during our stay at the Blue Ball Inn, Countisbury. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The selection of wine and beer was excellent. The dinner was fantastic - starters were good, main was delicious and dessert was to die for. The breakfast, included in the price of the room, was absolutely spot on. I had not had such good hollandaise sauce for some years, and after passing compliments to the chef, the waiter was even kind enough to tell relay the recipe used by the chef (Mitch Tonks). The room was comfortable and clean, with a great wet room shower. Had a great night's sleep. The decor and atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was warm and welcoming, with traditional decor, free darts, pool and board games, and a good selection of snacks. Didn't get a chance to check out the many walks which are available from the hotel around the area, but will definitely be doing so next time, as we are bound to return, as the experience of staying was wonderful from start to finish, and we're really looking forward to next time!

We stayed here for one night whilst travelling from our home in Lancashire for our holiday in Cornwall. This is a very old and interesting hotel, and would be an ideal base for exploring the surrounding towns and villages. The hotel is very tidy and clean, our room was excellently furnished. The food was very good and Jake and his staff were very kind, helpful and polite. We have given this hotel top marks because they are fully deserved.

Staying in Lynmouth we opted to take the short drive uphill to The Blue Ball, and so pleased that we did…We got the last free table of the evening! Lovely atmospheric ‘oldy- woldy’ vibe. Welcoming, attentive and friendly staff, good range of menu (choosing was difficult), all fairly priced. Meals were fresh, delicious and plentiful. I had the Spanish Chicken and it was so flavoursome. Dessert portions of larger than average side and as equally tasty as the mains. Would recommend.

My stay at the Blue Ball Inn with Jake and his incredible team was nothing short of fantastic. We spent a week here with our family and two spaniels, and it exceeded all expectations. The food was exceptional, the beer was superb, and our dogs were in heaven with the local walks and doggy treats. Even our teenager couldn’t stop raving about how comfortable the beds were. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our holiday truly AMAZING! We will definitely be returning.

Lovely location with beautiful scenery and great walks. The building inside and out is tired and dated, and in need of TLC. Plants left to die and the patio could do with a facelift. Our room was clean, however paint peeling on the bathroom ceiling. The dogs had a box of treats provided on arrival, which was a really lovely touch. I agree with previous comments regarding the menu. Not everyone wants to eat a meal at lunchtime, so a sandwich would have been nice. We had the crab linguine one night, which was quite frankly overpriced! Also one scoop of ice cream costing £2.50!!! The staff were friendly, although lacking in a bit of experience and customer service skills. Management could take a few tips from the Hope and Anchor in Hope Cove.

Lovely stop on a little road trip. Really friendly staff, nice vibes, and cosy too. The car park opposite the pub was a bit pot-holed and rough, but it was ok. Stopped here for the evening on my way through from Lynmouth towards Somerset, would recommend.

Great location for walking on Exmoor and also the north Devon coastline. The pub is superb! We (group of 5 men) stayed two nights and had three meals there. Rooms were good, clean with comfy matteresses, although the radiator in my bathroom did not work, room was still good. Food was excellent with good range. My ribs on Saturday evening were outstanding! The St Austell ale was appreciated by all. A wonderfull walking weekend made even better by the venue!
