I have spent 4 days at Hanul Vatra. It is an idylic place, with a wonderful and interesting story that you must descover. The staff is very nice, smiling mostly all the time, and the place is very clean. They have a Romanian cuisine, the food it was delicious! Great services! You must pay a visit!

When you come home still thinking about the place you've been and hoping to go back, it most probably was a great experience. Valcea area was not on our 'radar' but it happens to be a very promising one, with lots of things to see. Hanul Vatra left us speachless. So proud to have this kind of gem in our home country. Loved it!

"Hanul Vatra" is a story about hospitality, simplicity, order and orderliness, meaning in every detail, beauty, flavour, tradition, humanity, divine, harmony, life, eternity... It is Art... Harmony between the nature of the place with its colours and the construction of the place... It is about the people of the inn, those people who sanctify the place and everything they do, those people who remind us of humanity - "the first beauty" as George Racoveanu wrote... It's about the birds' trail at dawn, about the rustling of the forest in the silence of the morning, about the buzzing of the bees in the warm morning sunlight... It's about Bella the cat, who seems to be a relative of Rinpoche (the Dalai Lama's cat from David Michie's books)... Bella has her own (irresistible) way of greeting each guest of the inn every day... It's about the inn's neighbours - people and places... It's about Wood and the rustling of the forest, about Fire and the caressing sun, about Air and the clear sky, about Earth and pottery crafted according to the rituals of the ancients, about Water and the murmur of the para, it's about people who sanctify the place...all in Divine Harmony...
