We made a reservation in May and the hotel was in quite a bit of maintenance.
The room was very nice and had everything you needed.

Families take over everything! Couples feel overwhelmed and overlooked! We did not have a nice ex pero ende this time! Noisy room ( 360) We were kicked out of the couples buffet twice and we saw kids in the only adults pool. A bit too much. We will not come back in a while !

Concerning being surrounded by children and families, I kindly inform you that, as we are a family hotel, it is complicated to find spaces where children are not found. But we have also adults-only facilities, such as our swimming pool and the buffet, where children are not allowed to access; looking for the calm and comfort of the guests who prefer this kind of facilities. On the other hand, the acces to the adults-only buffet is subject to the availability of tables. We would recommend you to have breakfast there at around 9:30am, and to dine at around 21:00pm or after 22:00pm; which are the least overcrowded timings. FOOD POISONING and horrible customer service 1. I got severely food poisoned at the buffet. 2. There is mole in the bedrooms and bathrooms 3. The pools are not properly cleaned, leading to significant amounts of black algae. 4. Possibly bed bugs in the hotel - we have all been bitten by something during night at least Despite medical confirmation and pictures, the hotel manager denied all responsibility and said that it was “his business ethics to prove clients wrong”. When we asked for compensation for the extra night we were forced to stay in the room while I vomited he threatened that he would have the police arrest our family if we didn’t pay in full immediately. Horrible experience. Stay clear. Nice beach but unbelievably bad experience at a “4 star” hotel. Stay away if you care for your health.

Wonderful evening at the Elba Costa Ballena Resort! Staff was amazing and very supportive of our group function. Highly recommend the Barrosa room for get togethers and private events. The view from the balcony was beautiful and the room layout accommodated all our needs to make a memorable experience. Cannot say enough about the attentive and friendly service. Thank you for the memories. Will be back again.

For the most part this was a great stay. Our room was immediately upgraded by the friendly front desk staff when we found that we'd been given two single beds rather than our requested double bed (fortunately we weren't there in the high season so this switch was easily possible). The room itself was still quite basic but with a comfortable bed and excellent shower. The buffet dinner and breakfast was varied and quite tasty--but, to repeat another earlier comment, a bit salty for us. We particularly enjoyed renting bikes and riding along the beautiful ocean-side bike path. The reason for the 4-star review is partially because of surprise over extra charges (the safe in the room isn't free, alcoholic drinks cost extra with dinner) but primarily because of the spa. The spa pool itself is fine, nothing particularly special, but OK. We booked a couples 'healthy back' massage, and while the young woman who gave the massage was kind, it was a huge disappointment that, for that price and for a 'couples' massage, she was alone! That meant that one of us had to just lie there with some warm gel and pad on our back while the other had a massage. Given that the hour-long 'massage' began with a 10-15 minute session in separate jacuzzi tubs, the actual massage time was about 15-20 minutes each. Not worth it.

A very enjoyable experience, all service good, staff very pleasant and engaging, nice walking paths in the area and some just back off the beach in the dunes to avoid any wind. Rooms very comfortable, well appointed. Reception friendly in dealing with any issues

Elba Costa Ballene is a fantastic Hotel in the perfect location, the Management and staff are second to none, very very friendly and helpful. You are made to feel welcome from the very start and you can see that they enjoy there job . The buffet both mornings and evening is excellent, great selection and first class quality…… Many Many thanks for a great stay and we can’t wait to return 🙏🙏

Good experience but property needs to be modernized. Decor is ok but updated. The buffets had plenty of options especially seafood. We wished drinks were included in the buffet purchase price. Golf course was beautifully maintained even during the off-season.

Atención correcta, sobre todo Sandra muy atenta. Me gustó las diferentes saunas amplias instalaciones para grupos….I was there also as a friend and enjoyed my visit. Thank you for treating me real well. It was amazing and felt really relaxed. I will definately go again.

Just came back super relaxed from this amazing hotel/spa., situated next to the beach. Reception staff are super friendly and happy to help .Our room was a suite and I would definitely upgrade if you can . Very spacious , super clean all the mod cons, TV in lounge and bedroom .tea and coffee , mini bar jacuzzi bath separate shower, and the views overlooking the golf course were spectacular. The bed was super comfy and we even had bathrobes and slippers. The breakfast had a good variety of foods . English breakfast , freshly cooked pancakes , freshly cooked omelette with your choice of filling . Fresh fruit yogurts cereals , cold meats and pates and a large selection of breads. Evening buffet had a great range of different foods from paella to ribs freshly cooked fish and chicken while you wait, fresh salad and vegetables and lovely little cakes and ice-cream for dessert. We rented out bikes which is a great way to see the area. The bike route is right next to the beach and also there are some lovely lakes with wildlife to look at . The spa is a must. Total relax it has a mini circuit full of jets to ease your aches and pains a sauna and a steam room . Jacuzzi and also heated relaxing beds with relaxing music. If your looking to be entertained Atilio has it covered. An explosion of energy , fun you will be up dancing the night away. I can recommend the gin and tonics from the bar ! We would definitely go back when we get a chance ,the staff definitely make this hotel a lovely experience , everyone is always smiling and happy to help .Many thanks to all for making our holiday memorable.
