R2 Higos Beach

The hotel is lovely, modern and quiet. Always a sunlounger. Staff warm amd friendly. Room had everything you need for a self catering hotel. Bar and restaurant only open till 630pm roof top open 5 days per week until 830pm. Local cafe/restaurant in short distance. Great spar at a short distance that had everything we needed.

We are here at the moment in room 708 and I can honestly say this is one of the loveliest hotel/apartment I have ever stayed in. The apartment is spotlessly clean with everything you need and the comfiest bed. The pool is immaculate and the sunbeds are super comfy and the life guard is so friendly and helpful. All the staff have been delightful and Sandra at reception was very helpful to advise us about a late check out room for our departure on Wednesday. We are only here for 4 days but wish it was so much longer..thank you..Sandra and Iain

Great stay at the apartments (room 607). The check-in process was a bit laborious with a printout or email of Jet2 hotel voucher needed but everything after that was great. Very friendly reception, spotlessly clean and solo female friendly. The short walk to the beach has a little local bar that serves food with fantastic views and live music. Superb atmosphere and the most welcoming and friendly staff I've encountered. The apartment is huge. The bed is comfortable and I only wish I could stay longer. (Personal choice but the wasp mural hurts my eyes. Would a lizard or a flower be less offensive? Lots of people are allergic to wasps so I didn't care for it at all. I'll paint it for you haha). Stayed 7 nights and had a one bedroom apartment which was across the road from the main hotel. Apartment was lovely, modern & well equipped. The balcony was very small though with 2 uncomfortable chairs and table. Could see the sea but sunrise was blocked by another building. I prefer the beach and only used the pool area of this block for a couple of hours one day. Large sunbeds which you can’t move and they get very hot. The pool was taped off the entire time but no idea why. Apart from check in and out which was friendly & 2 visit to the sky bar which was nice I had no other contact with staff and didn’t use any other facilities. I really didn’t like Costa Calma, no heart and very bland and boring. The beach however which is down a small hill was stunning. The restaurants in the resort are just average. The best meals I had were at Dari Dari, looks like a cafe and down a side and no kern appeal but best service and nicest food I had all week. There is a Spar shop not far from the hotel, but the one a few yards further along that road is bigger, cleaner and better. Jet 2 transfers - was dropped off on corner of the road just 40 steps from hotel. For the return the text stated on the corner of the access road which I and others took as the same place. It wasn’t. It’s up the hill up on the main road. Surprised this accomodation is only 3 star, it should be 4.

Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Higos Beach apartments to anyone. We are currently halfway through a 7 night stay and have already booked for next year, with R2 directly. All apartments are great, but if you can, get one with an ocean view… Staff are welcoming and super efficient. Breakfast is of a very good standard, with great choice. Swimming pool is heated more than enough to take the chill off, whilst still a refreshing way to cool down should you need to. As with all areas, it’s very well kept. Gym is spacious and consists of 2 exercise bikes, 2 cross trainer and 2 treadmills, alongside a weigh machine and free weights. Roof top bar is a must! Views are fab and it’s lovely and peaceful. Food & drink at both pool bar & roof top bar is good and very reasonably priced. Surrounding area is fairly quiet, with a selection of restaurants. Would recommend Terraza del gato, which is just a few minutes walk away. Should you wish to eat in, the apartments are all equipped with all the utensils you may need, along with a small combination oven/microwave and a 2 ringed hob. Looking forward to our return journey already 😊 Thank you for a great holiday.
