We loved the attention, the room, the very friendly dining room service, reception, cleaning, towel service... To put a but, the minibar was not cold and in the offer I did not see the information that drinks at dinner are not included in the offer. Great pools, special mention to the Infinity pool even though we didn't know it was in another part of the complex, with a few stairs in between. The tranquility of the place is great to unwind. I would repeat for sure.

Stayed for a week as part of a cruise and stay as we did last year I reviewed this last year and made a mistake not to read my own review Let’s start with good things Staff are very good with special mention of Pilar wonderful lady who runs the restaurant with a smile and wit Food at lunch and dinner is very well cooked and presented Supermarket and Italian cafe opposite Room fine and comfortable However Tv has about 100 channels but only English is BBC world news Breakfast is not designed for British people no British sausage bacon hash browns etc Sun beds are low and uncomfortable and both they and side tables are pitted with dirt if you want a chair round the pool you have to get a note from reception Entertainment is at best mediocre but the Adeje Gran is only two bus stops away and they have fabulous entertainment I was pleased to see Johnny Circus again the funniest turn on the island Regarding cleanliness there was lots of glasses and bottles on the back staircase all week even after I reported it to management this is a safety exit All in all I won’t return

The dining experience here is the worst I’ve come across in a lifetime of travelling. 800 people crammed in to a canteen -like area. Food basically the same every night The ‘roast’ had a change of meat each night but apart from that undercooked broccoli, the occasional bean and potato Again the fish might have changed nightly but the preparation didn’t I tried the omelette once at breakfast Slimy mushrooms and as heavy as lead All meals were bland uninteresting and lacking in imagination On three occasions my initial selection for main course was so poor I had to change for a different dish Apart from the poor food the experience of dining was awful. Constant queuing for food and never ending traffic walking past the table On the plus side the staff were pleasant and helpful Apart from the food the hotel was reasonable, but we payed extra for a pool view room. We could see the pool, but it was over 100 metres away with the view obscured by two concrete roofs. The nearest one unfortunately was the bar which meant loud drunken noise until at least midnight. And all this before I mention the 78 steps down to the infinity pool and the beach

We can thoroughly recommend the Riu Arecas Hotel in Costa Adeje Tenerife. We wanted somewhere special to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and we can truly say every aspect of our holiday in this beautiful hotel was fantastic. The facilities, food, location, our room and particularly the Riu Arecas Team were exemplary. We will certainly visit again in the future. Very difficult to single out any of the Arecas Team, but we must say that Roberto deserves a special mention. Thanks everyone at the Riu Arecas, you were all wonderful

Just checked out of this wonderful hotel having spent ten days with my daughter. Ive stayed here many times before, with my husband, but it was nice to come with just my daughter this time. All the staff, far too many names to mention are an absolute credit to the RIU ARECAS. The hotel is spotless, staff are so friendly and helpful, they always have a smile on their faces. The food is lovely, so much choice, and all so fresh. Thank you omelette chefs !! Plenty of sunbeds to go round, although you always have the odd one or to who feel the need to get down before daybreak to reserve their beds !! X2 pools are great for swimming and cooling down The infinity pool is at the back of the hotel on the seafront, lots of steps to go down and back up, this wasn't a problem for us, but if you have mobility issues this could be a concern, albeit there is plenty of loungers around the two main pools. Special mention to Anka who serves at the infinity poolbar. She is a lovely lady and very friendly. It's a quiet hotel, my daughter at 23yr ! was clearly one of the youngest, i would say most of the guests are 60yr + and although there was entertainment every night at 22.30 that's where it ends, which suited myself, but if you're looking for anything more then I would suggest playa de las Americas !! Would highly recommend if you want some piece and quiet to relax Thank you to the management and all the wonderful staff who work tirelessly to make this hotel a lovely place to stay. xx

Our second visit and just as comfortable as the first. Very clean and comfortable, good food and service particularly in the restaurant and pool area where 2 of our party, who were disabled were well taken care of and it was much appreciated.

The staff at RIU as always are brilliant. The room was clean, and reception are always so helpful. Two supermarkets right opposite the hotel, the pools had enough sun beds for us, however it was overcast most days and I would think in the busier summer months you may struggle if not up at the crack of dawn to reserve a bed. The food was the same as it always is in RIU, it’s a half board hotel so we only ate in the restaurant 3 nights and the food was pretty much the same every time. The drinks are reasonably priced in the hotel, there were extra drinks added to our room that weren’t from us but the hotel rectified this before check out for us. The other guests at this hotel however, are more 60+ and as a couple in our 20s we were constantly stared at by other guests which felt quite uncomfortable. I wouldn’t return again for this reason but that is not the hotels fault. The restaurant was the most stressful part as no other guests staying at the hotel have manners, people push in front, bump into you, and worst of all will use tongs to pick up beef for instance, then use the SAME tongs to pick up chicken even though the hotel provide separate tongs for each dish. Disgusting. The hotel is situated in a hilly area so if your not okay with walking you will need taxis to and from the string of restaurants further down, the bus opposite the hotel is great it will take you right down to los Cristianos for €1.50 each.
