Gran Tacande Wellness & Relax Costa Adeje

Great location if you wish to have a more quiet getaway on an otherwise busy Tenerife. Pool is excellent and a 2 min walk from 2 beaches.

This is the second time we have stayed here this year. It’s in the more chilled out area of Tenerife - the clientele of this hotel is definitely on the older side however there are a few kids knocking around but not even remotely intrusive! We have stayed in a suite on both occasions and both have different benefits - some have a bath, some don’t; some get more sun on the balcony than others, some are a tad more private, some are open plan, some have separate rooms if you’re travelling with kids for example - both of them we stayed in however were amazing!! We love the attention to detail with everything that’s provided in the gold level suites - hair dryer, razor, shampoo etc in the shower… every day fresh water, tea, coffee, milk and capsules for espresso machine as well as little choccies dotted around the room. The beds are massive and insanely comfortable. Plenty of room to hang clothes, a safe…. The hot tub is amazing!!! Access to the San Sebastián level is great as complimentary snacks and drinks - gluten free available! We were very well looked after by Mario and Philppe. Gold level also gets dinner included one night and the food is really amazing - huge variety to choose from both at breakfast and dinner. The staff are amazing - Loretta sorted us out on reception - she is an absolute darling!!! The pool guy Mattius in the main pool area also double as a local weather man - such a lovely man! We tended to eat out of an evening as the bar doesn’t have as much character in the evening and nice to have a stroll - recommend Le Torre de Miracor and Acanto (10 min walk). The beach is 2 min walk and great fun in the sea! We will be regulars here - we love it!

We arrived and tried to access the internet. We had six devices (phones, tablets, notebook). Each would join a few seconds and then drop off. I called GEX (guest experience) and they promised to investigate. We never heard back. I discovered two antennas sticking up above the TV. They were connected to the WiFi router. I pulled the electrical cord out and stuck it back in. All six devices connected and stayed connected. GEX never replied. We had to do this almost daily. Our devices worked flawlessly in all other areas outside our room such as the pools. During our stay, the hotel converted from a common WiFi key to a portal that uses your room number. Things were stable following that. Then we noticed it was getting very warm in the room. We played with the thermostat. Setting the temperature down and then up. Turning off and then on. We couldn’t get the air conditioning to react to anything. I tried calling both GEX and the front desk. Neither answered. We had had a long day and flight. We couldn’t unpack our stuff as we didn’t know if we could live in this room. Finally , I walked to the front desk and they reset the air conditioning remotely . The room immediately started cooling down. We had to call the front desk almost daily for a reset. The a/c would then activate immediately during the call. Why the front desk should control the a/c is a riddle to me. There is a motion sensor in the room that doesn’t turn anything on. I suspect, it turns stuff off when no motion is detected. Possibly a malfunctioning sensor? There was a bathtub in the bedroom. Not a whirlpool or tub with jets. Just a single occupant Holiday Inn style standard bathtub.. If you used it, you would drip water in your bedroom getting out of it. It is longer than the bed and a potential death trap going to the toilet in the dark. Don’t do that though. There are no nightlights and the tub protects the route. Assuming you make it to the bathroom alive, you are guaranteed to wake up all other occupants of the room. The baths have loud glass sliding doors. If the door doesn’t wake everyone up, then turning the light on will. The light shines through the glass doors directly at the headboards of the bed. The toilet whistled like a banshee when flushing. Then you had to slide the loud door again to escape. Poor room design. Enough of the complaints. We didn’t go to Tenerife to stay in the room. Everyone at the hotel was friendly to a fault. Breakfast had a wide variety of quality food. Pool bar prices were quite reasonable. Parking was free. The pool area was nice with sufficient lounge chairs and convenient to the beach. The fitness room was well equipped with good and varied equipment. We did not book half board, I can’t say how dinners were. There are many restaurants within walking distance. Options were available for all budget ranges. We booked through Tui.

Pros Great selection of food for breakfast. Staff very accommodating and helpful. We had a suite, which was very spacious and clean. Close to the beach Close to shops and restaurants Cons If you wanted sunbeds next to the pool to keep an eye on your young children, it was early sunbed wars. Entertainment lacking we felt for children especially in the evenings. Poor WiFi throughout the hotel. Taking the above into account it's a really nice hotel. With a couple of improvements, it could be perfect. We were B&B, had lunch at the pool bar twice and explored other restaurants outside the hotel in the evening.

Lovely hotel and quiet . The location is great, we had lovely walks in the evening. We went half board, the breakfast buffet was great. The evening buffet was nice with some variety, though you do have to wait a little while for your fish/meat to be cooked. Poolside was nice, always got sunbeds in the same location, the exit out of the back is very handy. The gym was spacious with a good variety of equipment. If we decide to go away again in the winter, we will definitely go here again.

Our family had an amazing stay at Gran Tacanda Hotel in Costa Adeje this July. Traveling with our children, aged 8 and 9, we found the hotel to be exceptionally accommodating and family-friendly. One of the highlights of our stay was the Mini Club. The activities were well-organized, engaging, and suitable for children of various ages. The instructors were not only professional but also incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure every child felt included and had fun. Our kids absolutely loved it and couldn't wait to go back each day. Additionally, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the yoga sessions offered by the hotel. The yoga instructors were excellent, providing classes that were both relaxing and rejuvenating. Their guidance and expertise made each session enjoyable, regardless of one's level of experience. The overall experience at Gran Tacanda was wonderful, with excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and a range of activities that kept the whole family entertained. We highly recommend this hotel for families looking for a perfect blend of relaxation and fun.

This hotel is amazing! I wanted a luxury hotel for my birthday and first couples holiday without our kids and couldn’t have been better. Room was to die for, spacious with everything you need even down to cotton buds. We stayed B&B and was lovely, so much to choose from even champagne for breakfast which was a nice touch. Staff couldn’t do enough for you, I especially liked the poolside bar service, press a button and they come to take your order, pay cash, card or charge to room. I would stay again and thinking to take the kids next time, but then again might keep this hotel to myself for me and my husband lol.

A wonderful hotel. An excellent location, very comfortable rooms, (although the bath in the middle of the room is a bit odd). Free wifi worked on our phones and a chromebook with no issues. The food was excellent and the staff deserve a high level of praise, they are welcoming, efficient and are well organised. We went to the roof bar a few times and it was a wonderful setting with reasonably priced drinks. We were in room 730 which had a wonderful view out to sea, the coffee capsules were replenished, water was replenished and chocolates delivered every evening along with extra towels if needed. I look at some other reviews and I wonder if they were in the same hotel! Many thanks to Jorge for a wonderful welcome, he explained how everything in the room worked and is an excellent ambassador for the hotel.

We booked through TUI We had a Suite which was ok but stayed in better. It was clean on arrival but didn’t seem to be cleaned throughout our stay. Bed was ok, 2 single beds pushed together. Pillows were very big and uncomfortable. Tv worked and had English channels which was good. Could not connect to the WiFi. Breakfast had lots of options so ok. Staff were friendly. The pool area was our main disappointment- the floors around the pool area was dangerously slippery! So many near misses. There was a 3rd pool however you had to pay to use €40 pp / pd. there was work going on some of the swim up pool rooms which caused a huge amount of disruption during our stay loud and unable to relax with it going on, and we were not informed of this happening during our stay. The hotel was about 20 minute walk from any local bars etc. I have stayed in other 5* hotels abroad and this dosent come close. I wouldn’t personally return anytime soon!
