El Cordova

Quaint, small but well appointed room. Clean. Everyone friendly. Great location.quiet. Nice pool and spa. Comfy bed love the plantation blinds and all the Spanish tile.

Location, location, location! This is not the “fanciest” hotel but it has an old world Spanish charm that is hard to beat. It’s located across the street from Hotel Del, within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and beach. We will definitely be staying here in the future.

While the property is charming it is in need of renovation and service focus training. The room had a old smell and didn’t feel clean there was mold in the tiles. I was over the restaurant which I was worried would be loud. The person at the front desk told me just go out to dinner and the noise should be over when you get back. The real problem he said were the people cleaning the restaurant we’ve had to speak to them about being too loud in the middle of the night. So I could hear the neighbors clearly and sure enough at 1:30/2 am I was awakened by people yelling in the restaurant and I was tempted to yell down and ask them to keep their voices down! The pool and hot tub heaters were missing parts and freezing cold and I picked the hotel because it had a cute pool. The front desk said oh yeah that’s broken sorry. The beach had sewage signs up saying stay away from the toxic water. Coronado is lovely the location is lovely but I ubered to La Jolla to enjoy the beach. Would have appreciated being alerted to the pool and hot tub not working and they need to up their game on service. It’s very expensive and you pay it all for location I guess. It could be so fabulous if they renovate the rooms. I would’ve appreciated a discount for all the mishaps. I told the front desk about all the issues and not once did anyone follow up with me.

Being located in Coronado, I felt very safe at Cordova. The building itself has paper thin walls so good luck getting any sleep lol. Our front desk concierge walked my partner and I to our room and checked to make sure everything was in order. It was classy but also a bit odd as we’ve never had this experience before. The best part of the hotel is its location because it’s a tad bit run down being over 100 years old and not fully repaired. Overall the experience was pleasant and I don’t regret going there, but I’m not dying to stay again.

The front desk person was not very friendly and when I approached him to ask how much it would cost for one night he quoted an expensive price. Thankfully I came to my senses and checked ******* where the price dramatically dropped in half. When I returned back to him with a confirmed room he didn’t even address the elephant in the room, which was that crazy price he quoted me. I’m sure he has to quote walk ups one price and online is different but it could’ve been addressed to make it a more pleasant experience. Your room looks out on a rooftop of a courtyard restaurant: Miguel’s. At night you’ll hear the diners eating, etc. and in the morning you’ll be regaled with the singing (and talking) of the maintenance men getting the courtroom restaurant ready for the day. This was at 7:02 AM! The rooms do have a kitchenette but the room is crazy tiny! It felt more like a studio than a 1 bedroom. Bed was ok comfort but nothing special. This is not a luxury stay despite the upscale area so please be forewarned. Good place for one night only.

The property is basically a one bedroom apartment. It’s small but good and has access to a pool and restaurants in walking distance.

It’s cute hotel, but a little bit noisy, because in the middle of resort is a Mexican restaurant.

the service at the desk is not attentive at all, the room is to small and "shaby" I had other expectations. The locality is amazing.
