The hotel itself was typical for a Hampton. Room was clean, furniture seemed a bit worn, staff was cordial, breakfast was mediocre. So, nothing great and nothing bad about the hotel, it was average. However, there was one major negative about this property - its location. There is a Hampton sign out by the street but you could not see the hotel. You follow small arrows past an abandoned building (it may have been a Ramada at one time) and proceed thru a dark alley to the rear area and the Hampton is behind this unoccupied structure. It makes you feel uneasy. Coming back from dinner in the dark made my wife nervous. For this reason we would not stay at this hotel if we are in Fishkill again.
