The Perkins House in Cornish Maine is an old, cluttered house with thin doors and shared baths. Our room was so loaded with "period pieces" that we had trouble finding room for our things. This was also the case in our shared bath, which was also the bath used by the house owners. We could hear the couple in the next room conversing through the adjoining door and could hear the other guests getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. We were not given a key to our room so the only way to lock it was with the safety chain meaning we couldn't lock it when we went out.

My husband and I have stayed at the Perkin’s House multiple times. Both in the carriage house (spacious and absolutely stunning) as well as a guest room upstairs. The home is decorated according to the seasons/holidays which I love and appreciate as I am also big into embracing such opportunities to decorate our own home. Cleanliness 10/10.. you can tell that Gretchen & Keith take a lot of pride in how they maintain their home. Breakfast accommodations are out of this work!! Hands down, best french toast I have ever had! If you’re looking for a cozy place a little off the beaten path and out of the hustle and bustle, look no further than The Perkins House.

I just love the Perkins House in October. This was our second time staying here. It was beautifully decorated with a “hint” of Halloween in which the town of Cornish relishes. We stayed in the carriage house and it was so roomy! Keith’s breakfast was amazing. He also lit an evening fire and told us about all the great places to see and eat. Gretchen and Keith care about their guests and do their best to accommodate their needs . Central to Southern Maine, clean and tidy, would recommend to our family and friends.

I have been wanting to come to the Perkins house since Gretchen and Keith bought it several years ago and have worked hard to updated it to this beautiful B&B. My friend June and I had a wonderful time. Gretchen and Keith are amazing hosts. They have a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding areas in Maine. Gretchen and Keith gave us a scenic itinerary while we were there for four days. Three of those days we were on the coastline of Maine and we used our itinerary that Gretchen and Keith gave us to see all the local and hidden spots. We were not disappointed. They’ve worked so hard to have such a beautiful B&B and it shows. The food, accommodations and the passion for their love for hospitality shows in all they do. We were only an hour away from everything. This B&B was a perfect spot as a home base in Maine. You must go and check them out when you’re in Maine you will not be disappointed!

The most helpful, kind staff! I called to book a room for an upcoming wedding in the area, and the B&B was booked. The next day, Gretchen reached out to me to say the inn had a cancellation if I was still in need of lodging. SO KIND! No doubt they could fill the room, but she took the time to go through her caller ID to track me down and offer it to me first. Sensational customer care, and so appreciated.

The Perkins House came to my attention as a referral, around the Holiday. My friend and I were doing a mini getaway for antiquing in the Bethel to Cornish, Me area, and decided on the “Carriage” room, at the Perkins House, as an extra treat for ourselves. When we arrived, the house was adorned with outside Christmas lights and figurines… and was breathtakingly beautiful. The accommodations were spacious and the entire Victorian home was decked with antiques, holiday trimmings, multiple themes and a warm and inviting ambiance. We had so much room in the Carriage House, we did not stray to explore the ‘common space’ for guests, which was also decorated with a joyful, vintage flair. Our hostess and host,Keith and Gretchen, were both welcoming and passionate about their contribution to their Inn. Breakfast was another amazing presentation, serving a tasty 5-cheese omelet with many other delectables served with it. The breakfast table was another showpiece, and as the common rooms were revealed, the entire house was an event, unto itself. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer anyone to this location. It was such a compliment to our entire trip, and was extremely reasonable and a hidden jewel.
