I have absolutely no idea why this hotel has 3.5 stars and not 4.5/5. We have literally just arrived but first and foremost what a stunningly beautiful structure and hotel. I nearly didn’t book as I was put off by the reviews, hence the reason to write a review within 10 mins of getting our room. We arrived early morning to be greeted by the reception staff with a friendly smile and despite our room not being available this wasn’t a problem as they were happy to store our luggage so we could go and explore. The said to come back at a time which was and hour an half earlier than the official check in, the proceeded to give us the checking information so when we returned we could be shown straight to our room. Well what an amazing first impression, stunning room, on the second floor which displays original features from the historic Sicilian church that the building once was. The lobby area outside the room has comfy sofas and again beautiful architecture. Staff showed us to the room and explained everything. Rooms are fully equipped with a kitchen area, sofa and dining area, bedroom area and clean and function bathroom. Everything is decorated to an incredibly high spec, WiFi working perfectly (full service, not sure why the bad reviews on this previously)! Walked up to the pool areas which is amazing, gorgeous views of the rooftops of Sicily and the sea in the distance. Anyone afraid of booking please don’t hesitate like I did, ignore the bad reviews and book straight away you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I had the worst experience at this hotel. The hotel staff was never available in the lobby to get us into the building upon arrival and continued to be absent throughout our stay. There was a sign in our room that there would be no room service until day 3 of our stay and we had people in our room from day 1. Additionally, wifi was out of service the entire time and there was no communication to when it would be fixed. We have reached out to the hotel for compensation and they continue to ignore us. Do not stay here.

Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Extremely unprofessional. Wi-Fi didn’t work any of the days we were there and there was no service was in the room. Shower was in the bedroom not the bathroom. You were supposed to call to let them know when you were going to check in, but no one answered my 4 calls and I was stranded outside for 30 minutes because the front desk person wasn’t there when she was supposed to be. I was offered a full refund and told to email but then they ignored all emails. do not stay here.
