Had a lovely lunch sat in the sunshine overlooking the river, this really is a beautiful, idyllic pub with so much character. We were served by a delightful young girl called Sophie who could not have been more helpful and pleasant and always had a smile on her face despite being very busy. Would definitely recommend this pub - a perfect summer’s spot.

Scorching hot day so a great place to sit in the shade under a sun parasol watching the river flow by, whilst having some cold drinks. Food menu looked good so next time it might be lunch or a pizza from the oven. Staff friendly and a decent range of beers on tap.

Pub within walking distance of our Airbnb. A great find and great pizza from their wood fired pizza oven. Very friendly and efficient service as well. Very busy on Thursday and Friday when we stayed nearby so worth booking to guarantee a table.

My husband and I stsyed a night here. The room was clean but did not feel it.. A liquid handsoap - no toiltries. The bed was so uncomfortable.. and as for the pillows take your own. I got into bed and started scratching! So I slept on the top in my clothes. The poor bar service so the barman continued conversation with a local about the locals relationship break down.. and giving advice I was shocked at the "Lack".. Never.to return

Staff was very rude asked us to sit outside after booking And said they would put the outside heater on as we had people with arthritis with us then after waiting 20 minutes for menus and for them to start the heaters they came out and said they couldn’t put the heaters on and then asked us to pay up front

We eagerly went for a Saturday lunch having had the food recommended by friends. All the food (soup, ham/egg/chips, pizzas) was very good however the experience was let down by the erratic service. We were initially only given one menu for the table and had to ask for one each. The food came quickly - too quickly - we hadn't finished our starters when two of the main meals came and then the other two main meals came sometime later after we chased for them. Ambience was nice although could have been improved by lighting the real fire. Hopefully this was just an off day and we will try again but will expect much better service next time.

Enjoyed our stay but room 3 needs attention. The mattress is badly stained and would put me off staying again. Spoke to staff about missing light bulbs and suggested a mirror near a plug socket for drying your hair would be useful. Decent breakfast and very friendly staff.
